3 Dark Devil and 3 Think Different

Hello everyone or anyone, I am the proud owner of two new LED units 560w total but 360-410w of draw. I have been doing my grows with 600w MH & HPS bulbs for the past couple grows and decided with my temps and the electric bill I'd try out LEDs, kinda excited.. So I was told I should continue my grow in the LED section, hope that's not a problem, I do feel kinda weird about swapping in the middle but ok. Also I intend on changing over to DWC next grow or for my perpetual grow from here on out. So I recently added an a/c unit anyway so temps haven't been a problem so much. I'm on day 20 and things are coming along, they seem a lil smaller than the previous grows for this time frame but I'm not too concerned. One is very small however but it has two mains coming up and without any topping. So I'm not sure what I should put here if anything from the first part or just let you go check it out. Hmm
Ok so I'm growing in soil this grow consisting of about 35% FFOF 35% Promix and 30% Perlite no additives
I am using FF Grow Big, FF Big Bloom & FF Tiger Bloom for this grow & using tap water and RO water depending on feeding, also there is botanical cal/mag & some molasses.

Lights are from a company in China but had a good record and were very accommodating. Below is a link to the site and the custom ratio I requested as well as a few recent pics of the plants.

Ratio-
1- IR 725nm
7- 660nm deep red
3- 630-640nm red
2- 460nm blue
2- 6500k cool white

120deg primary 90deg secondary

I will also be running two 26w UVB lights during flowering a couple hours a day to help with trich production.

hopefully the transition goes smoothly

Also I just received some colloidal silver and will be taking some clones from each strain and making some feminized auto seeds, too excited :)

thanks

By the way, Free, that avatar is vicious! How did you come up with the custom spectrum? All that aside, I'm subbed in! "Munch..munch..munch

Congrats on the new lights bro you will really like the Apollo's, glad that seller worked out for you as well.

Plants are looking great so far, good choices for strains too :smoke: I'll be following this one.

GreenBandit- Thank You Sir.. Very much appreciated.. As for the ratio I researched numerous companies and decided on mix from a few different ones, truthfully I don't remember now but I'm sure I had my reasons.. :)

Thanks Hansbricks, They were very good to deal with and gave me exactly what I asked for no additional charges, and they stated anyone who purchased from them previously will get a discount on any future purchases, so that's nice. I really appreciate the suggestion.. I wish it was all the strains I had chosen for this grow, however I accidentally ordered photo versions of Northern LIght Blue instead of auto and the freebie - a Bomb Seeds THC bomb didn't pop :( so sad was real curious about that one after looking into it.

Thanks I will start to get more posts up as things start getting interesting.

Hello, day 21. So although they appear to be much smaller than my previous grows for this time frame they do look good for the most part, except the one DD. I have noticed that maybe the smaller sizes might be due to how close I had the lights, they had no reason to stretch (hoping I figured something out) so I raised the lights up from about 23" to 30" Did notice the colors seemed to blend a lil better above 26"
We have a few pistils starting to show on a couple, so things should start getting interesting very soon. I am still waiting a few more days before taking some clones from each strain and trying out the colloidal silver and attempting to make fem auto seeds for myself, I just don't want to take away from the plant, small sacrifice but... Well that's it for now I think, here's a couple pics

I'm a bit confused. I thought autos were unable to be cloned? You gotta excuse my ignorance, as I still have tons to learn. Is there certain instances in which autos can be cloned? By the way, those are some pretty girls you got there. I love the structure and shape of young cannabis plants!

You can root cuttings from autos but they wont become true clones and there usually runts and give very little smokable buds.If you take a cutting from a fem at say two or three weeks that cutting will also be that age and already going into flower mode and will not veg enough to make any thing worth while. This is why cloning is not recommended.

Hey Bandit, No worries bro, as Namvet says it's not true cloning, I apologize for misleading you. What I am doing is taking cuttings - which I won't expect much from as far as size & I'm going to spray them with colloidal silver in hopes of stressing her out to produce pollen sacks(nodules) or whatever they're called and pollinating another small cutting. This in turn should give me feminized auto seeds. A lot of people have been doing this and being very successful with it. Here is a link to a thread of other users such as myself doing this exact trial run and posting results.
https://www.autoflower.org/f8/self-pollinating-create-more-seeds-34820.html

Also the cutting or portion of any plant that has been sprayed with the colloidal silver cannot be smoked, so yield isn't a factor in this instance

Again sorry for the confusion and thank you for the compliments..

Namvet, thank you for stoppin by and the clarification, always appreciated..

Hey Free, welcome to the led section :)

Don't worry about them stretching mate, they will eventually and you'll be begging them to stop lol! You can keep the lights a bit closer, about 18" and they'll still grow tall enough.

Oh and be ready to give them what will seem like massive doses of calmag to an HPS grower!

Hey Bilbo, thank you sir, I'm not too worried, I've just noticed that previous grows that stretched less than others gave me less yields and I just need to find my sweet spots, I've noticed some LEDs can be ran that close cause they don't need to blend the lights, mine being separate I've read the best to do is have them high enough for all spectrums to blend. One grower actually runs his between 30"-40", then lowers it during flowering 6" or so. I have noticed since switching the heights they are stretching a lil more and actually looking better, they appeared to be wilty and soft with lights closer then perked right up after pulling back on them a lil.
Oh and yes I have already noticed the huge demand for extra cal/mag, 2nd day had brown spots, I've never had spots before, that and one other was starting to show signs of nute lock or lack there of, so I quickly made up a foliar spray with a lil cal/mag and big bloom, very little bout half a milliliter each and sprayed, next day discoloration was gone and although the spots remain on the one (they won't disappear) you know it did her good. So next feeding I'm upping everything and hopefully will be good.
