Harvest & Curing Help with Dry/Cure

I checked them this mornin' and the hygrometer was at around 50%. The room is at 50%. They felt a little crunchy on the outside. I hope they are not drying too fast! My bag is not new but I thought I had it closed well enough. Maybe there just isn't enough bud in there to make a difference in the room RH?
Being uncertain, I am going to get some new paper grocery bags and add all of my buds that are coming down tonight. That ought to replicate what you are doing, hopefully well enough to work. I just want these buds to smell like they should, I know they'd be killer.
I can't help myself, I was too worried about them drying too fast. I put them in a medicine bottle and put my hygrometer on top like a cap. I want to see where these buds are. I may put them in my small jar with the hygrometer if I don't get a timely reading in the medicine bottle. I have put some others in a cardboard box that seals up pretty well with a hygrometer, interested to see where they come in %wise. Still have majority on the vine waiting to figure out the best dry/cure method.

OK, going with it then. Plant came down and I put all buds, even those that were harvested a few days earlier, in a bag. It's prolly not an ounce. Tonight is the 2nd night of Operation Smell Right. Elvis, I hope to high heaven this works. My largest harvest of 1 plant to date. She went forever, some 120 days I'm thinking. Hopefully it'll all be worth the effort.

you will be ok bro just remember don't let your RH drop below 62 and remember the paper bag is a a safe bag.. I forgot to ask you if you have any bravda packs 62% i dont have any yet but im gonna buy some..

I do have some. I have read that they shouldn't be used for the dry/cure. Only for storage after. My experience jives with that as I used one in a jar with a small amount that I had pre-harvested, came out smelling lightly like grass and hay, no canna smell. Certainly these are useful for longer term storage but I wouldn't use them until your stash is stabilized and the cure and smell are set in.
Just curious if you've monitored the RH in the bag? Is this not supposed to drop below 62%? I'd like to just seal it up and forget about it for a couple weeks but knowing me I'm going to want to know whats happening in there.

I'm getting readings of 50-55% inside bag. This is both digital and analog. Hoping thats where it needs to be.

Well after some time undisturbed the RH was observed to be 67% in the bag which puts my mind at some ease. Also there are lingering undertones of a really good aroma. I know its early in the process but I hope that smell develops into what it should be. Right now there just isn't a smell at all. I'll report as I know more. Much thanks E, if this works you get the biggest rep slap ever.

I'm hanging in with this bag method man. Right now, day 3, I'm getting readings in the 50's again and all smell has evaporated. I have what is going to end up being a little more than a quarter oz. My instinct is to take it out and put it in jars now. In fact I did, then moved them back to the bag.
I remember reading that the smell (and flavour) come back with time SO I am giving it time in the bag. I will continue to flip it everyday for 2 weeks to a month and document when (if) the smell returns and get an actual timeframe for my RH.
My other thought was to throw a Boveda pack in there but again I read where thats a no no in the first two weeks. I'm going on pure faith now, in the bag method, that my buds will cure right and smell good as they should.
