Hi Everybody!



I am Toronto born, call me Em. I have no experience, but will be doing this this right way. I bought a sunblaster nano dome - With full rapid rooters, tray, dome and light for germination. OK. Done. Ive gotten a tent from an online wap shop type thing. Its a secret jardin which I know isn't terrible but isn't like a gorilla tent. Its 3x3. Im very happy. Now a few questions -

Id like to keep them smaller then big, can you recommend a strain. I keep hearing the name afghan kush ryder.
I will be attempting all this hydroponically as my shop is EXTREMELY helpful and I think ive wrapped my head around it.

I saved money for this, and will be getting a ph pen, ppm pen, and either canna or recipe or success. Any suggestions?

Anyways. If I don't kill it its a win for me. Ill start a thread with pictures when I get seeds. I have a shop not too far, in ingston. I wont say the name, I don't know if im allowed? Anyways I know they have ALOT of brands.

I'm not a hydro grower so will hold off on the nute recommendations, but i'm sure some Hydro guys will be along soon.
A PH pen is a really important tool for a successful grow.

As far as seeds go - Most Auto's that i've grown have stayed at a reasonable height 0.5m - 1.5m, we've got some good seedbanks on the forums - Dutch Passion and Sweet Seeds are both very popular choices! Take a look at their sections and see if anything grabs your fancy!

Em! Nice to have you here-best place on the net and everyone here is great they will get you up and running and help you out with any problems/questions you have.

I'd like to suggest you look at anything with "ryder" in it, so yeah Afghan Kush Ryder would be a good one. I had an Snowryder for my very first grow and that was short, last grow I went with an Auto Assassin which was super short, basically a 1" tall nug. Have a look around at some journals, see what people are growing, you'll soon be overwhealmed by the varieties, I know I am.

Hey Emz welcome to AFN

you have come to the right place for all things Auto.

Anything you need is all here under one roof Admin, Mods and the rest of the family are awesome and can give all the support and help you need, just holler and post it.

Going hydro EC & Ph meter , calibration solution/poweders for you meters, Ph up & Ph down , dosing syringes and have some Calmag or epsome salt in reserve.

Your hydro store will help you out. there is always something you can add here and there this just my advice towards a basic kit.

Grape meurte -Barney s Farm 50 CM

Massive Midget - Heavy Weight 60cm - 80cm

Auto Big Gun - Short stuff 50CM - 75 CM

Blue himalaya - 25CM - 38CM

Blue Mistic - Royal Queen Seeds - 80CM -100cm

My god I just came back from work and you all already have so much info! Thanks, all of you. I think ill go with the sweet seeds, the red xl series looks amazing although I know they make the pictures look a bit fancyier then they are. I will definitely get pictures and start a grow journal. Its only 3pm which means I HAVE TIME to go to the store! Ill try to get something from sweet seeds or the ryder plant like one of you said. Why did it take me 26 years o find out or I should say realise I don't need to overpay for garbage medicine when I can make my own custom medicine. Im on www.420kingston.com and I think my brain is gonna explode with the choices. Don't know if I can post that website. . .

welcome id use dutch pro nutes or sensis hydro a and b,

remeber the more u add the worse u can make it, most feed a and b are total feeds

most addatives are all money , and hydro shops are helpful.. but also are tryin to make money

strain wise there is alot u can coose form im in the same tent doing automazar a ''big plant'' they wil grow more or less to whatever size pot ya put them in, 10l+ big plants

2-5l smaller, if a plant gets bigs use a screen to make a scrog , google it its easy as pie,

what light using?? u gona go LED?? u shud man less heat les problems beter light less cost

We have a sweet seeds section in the forum, definitely worth having a look.

Red family is nice and you can get some excellent colours with them.

sweetseeds jay & Tommy are helpful friendly guys and happy to help with any questions you have.

Think you may have got your wires a little crossed, there is no XL in the red family, the only XL to my knowledge is the "Big Devil XL"

Not sure why you would consider an XL version if you have height concerns.

Which ever strain you choose there will be help and support when you need it.
