I'm Bruce and I have decided to give growing my own a go. I have bought a Black Orchid tent 1m x 1m x 2m. I have never grown before & really don't have a clue to be honest, I have Canna 50L Terra Professional Soil Mix and 10 Wipeout Express Auto seeds (Heavyweight Seeds). The tent came with 600W HPS bulb. I really want to know about what nutrients to use how and when really. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Toke it easy folks :)

Hi Bruce, all the best with your grow bro. I'm too noob to advise I'm afraid, just wanted to welcome you :welcome:
No doubt some more experienced growers will be along soon to welcome you and give you some technical advice. :check:

Hiya Bruce! Welcome to AFN. There are a thousand nutrients lines to buy. Make it a little confusing. I would find a local grow store, talk up the folks and buy a starter kit(they have a little of everything you need). You need to do some homework and read some threads on nutrients and what to look for. They can be expensive or cheap depending what you need. Just a hint, the plant doesn't care where the NPK comes from, just as long as it get them at the right time. Here are a few fert links to get you started.

Snooker Brucie,

There are some very expensive nutes out there. Chat up your local Hydro shop if you have one and remember you don't have to spend a fortune to get good stuff.

Enjoy your new hobby. We are here to help. eP.

Welcome to AFN Bruce, with that size tent and bulb what kind of exhaust or ventilation do you have for that space? Getting your temps right is one of the key things to address BEFORE you get plants in there, reason being is it impossible to kill or harm a plant that is not there :) My first 2 grows my plants were severly impacted by heat issues just simply because I had no idea.

The 2 most important things in my Humbolt opinion when you first start your grow is Temperature and PH. If these two things are right then you will get to the stage where you need to feed them, but if they don't get there first few set of leaves you will never need those nutes.

Growing has a lot of components to it so over the last 10 years or so I have learned through lots of trials and tribulations that things must be done in the correct order at first.

Now for your feeding question, I don't know if this is one of the links provided above but this is Tang's New and Improved Feeding Schedule. It is by far one of the easiest to understand guides for new growers that I have seen. Tang is probably one of the best on here IMO when it comes to growing monster beasts of the highest quality(his grow journals speak for themselves)

You have a great setup and a heck of a head start in finding this forum due to its wealth of knowledge from credible sources, you will do amazing I am sure of it! Ask as many questions as you need to and someone is always here to lend a hand :)

Welcome to AFN Brucie, looks like Briman already gave you some good advice. if you re t legal where you are located buying local and paying with cash is definitely the way to go. et a pH meter if you do not already have one and some starter soil that does not have added nutes (even organic ones).

Auto's tend to be cal/mag hogs so get some along with whatever nutes you go with.

Drek is right on regarding heat. Will odor from he plants be a issue for you? If so a carbon filter will be needed. Also a small fan to provide air movement in your tent.

Good luck and start a grow journal in New Growers section so we can follow your progress. Happy Growing
