Indoor HM's Buddah Purple Kush Journal

Hey man looking great so far. Couple questions for you.

How far are you keeping your light? I have an old style mars hydro 600w w/two babies under it right now.

I see you were watering until runoff at the early stages. Everywhere I turn to says to not water seedlings too much. From your knowledge, am I missing something? It clearly wasn't overkill when looking at your lady. Thanks in advance for the response.

I have my light about 30 inches from the top of the plant, now that she is beginning to stretch I will lower to about 24 inches in a few days. This is only my second grow using LED, was using t5ho prior so I am just a novice to the LED. Great light though, I just bought another 100x3 old style, should fill out my 2x4 tent quit famously.

Some people mistakenly believe that by only watering the center of the pot in seedling stage makes the roots "grow in search" of water. The truth is, roots will not grow into dry soil. Roots die in dry soil. As long as your soil is well drained (perilite add to about 1/3 the volume of the pot) you can feed to runoff without any problems and your roots will eagerly grow throughout the medium. Many newbies tend to overwater by feeding every day or every other day without letting the medium dry out between times. I also pump air into the bottom of my pots and force the air up through the medium and out the top. I am sure this helps dry the medium too. Check out my THC Bomb Journal in my signature, it shows details of my forced air induction system. I do "trickle" water around my newly emerged seedlings every day for the first week, I'm talking a shot glass full poured aroud the plant. This is needed only because the root system is so small then. After a week, the roots have expanded enough so you can quit the trickle watering. I prep my medium by soaking to runoff with 1/8X base nutes with 2 ml/L each of Voodoo and B52. This leaves the medium plenty moist for a week or more after emerging for the roots to grow into.

Hope this helps with the questions, sorry so long. Peace:420:

9/12 Day 25

Showing sex, she's a babe.

Fed 1/2X (2 ml/L) base nutes plus 1 1/2 ml/L CalMagic plus 2 ml/L B52. , pH adjusted to 6.3.
Fed 1 gallon, runoff of 2 quarts.

She is stretching fast, I count 12 shoots growing up, and more to come yet. Figure I have another week to get things like I want, then let her go for the light.

Of course, pics Day 25

Looking great man.
Thanks @StraightKRACK , she has a couple of funky leaves going on, but she's growing like crazy and nothing seems to be getting worse, so I'm just going with it. I think it's a Mg issue, this strain may be a heavy CaMg eater. I use RO water and combined with LED, I can see where CaMg issues could occur.

Thanks for the rep. Well I'll continue watching man. I'm having some yellowing on one of my ladies which is way smaller than my bigger one and I've been giving them both the same feed. I guess it's just like that sometime
I have had that happen, alot. I usually plant two of the same strain and SCROG them together. I almost always got one tall pheno and one short. Every plant grows differently and has slightly different requirements. They will tell you what they need, you just have to learn to "listen". After a few grows, you get to know the signs. This girl is "giving me mixed messages" as she is growing good, but a few weird leaves. I am pretty sure it is or was a Mg problem, after upping the CalMagic, my new growth looks perfect.

9/15 - Day 28 - End of Week 4

pH via A8 6.7

Fed 2 quarts of 5 ml/Gallon FloroKleen, pH adjusted to 6.3

Into the really rapid growth stage, you can tell the difference every AM when doing my tucking and pulling. Got this girl all spread out as you can see, hope she likes bondage!!!
