So what size is yours? what do we think is the smallest size per plant pro's and cons lets get it down :woohoo1:

I will start

I have a reservoir which holds 55 liters of water which I use with 1 plant I find that it helps with stopping fluctuations
in PH but bad thing is its a night mare to change

55 L is quite a bit for most hobby setups for one plant.
But, as you have discovered, it is pretty stable.
I generally go with about half that amount for one plant and find I can keep things pretty stable.
That is something that many hobbyist don't factor in.
If you go with a larger rez, you should not have to change it as often.
I generally top my rez off with nutrient solution rather than straight H2O, because of that, depending on many factors I usually change my rez' every 3-14 days.
When they consume more than 1/2 the rez in a day, they get changes every three days.
Otherwise, I just watch how stable the readings are. If the plant looks good and the readings are stable, keep it there.

My whole system is custom made apart from light, fan and filter. I have a main room which has a 400 watt duel spec bulb and temps stay at around 24 the res is separate and stays at a good temp and then ventilation comes in the form of a 6 inch fan with 600mm filter and 3 5 inch feeder ducts

I hope it's bubbling... and dropping a frozen bootle in now and then, would be good. Changing every three days if that's the case re-measure your volume. It's alot of wasted nuttes .. I'd you have a 30 G rez.20 uses tops 10Gs.i it added up ehh

Yep 4 air stones one right under net pot and others round res, the res is separate from room so temps are always spot on, change nuttes every 10 days and top up when needed

Im growing with a top feed recirc. system with leca as medium
My res is 5L growbucket is 5L. one airstone in res. and only gets aereated about 1 min 30 sec. a hour.
my ph is stable "ish" and i let the plant suck my res. almost dry before res change.
:pass:

3.5 gallon res. 2 plants in one res. at the end, I was refilling the res every 2-3 days. I don't mind refilling more often, and I like to give the roots a little open air time before the refill.

It was my first grow, but I pulled in a decent harvest, it will probably be 4oz+ once it is finished. It probably would have been more, had I not tried(unsuccessfully) to FIM one plant. It yielded significantly less than the one I didn't FIM. They are in the jars now.

I have a 3 gal. and a 5 gal. res. that I change once a week. When I get my controller going it adds about 5 gallons to the system. I can't imagine changing a 12 to 15 gallon res once a week but I'm carrying my water in gallon jugs. The most successful grow I've had was 4 plants in the 3 gal. res. 8 is too many. I just grew 10 in the 5 gal. res but had root issues.

I have a 55gallon res. on an ebb and flow system. Im growing 24 plants with it but it is upgradeable to 48 plants.
In a newbie and need a bit of help with PPM can anyone point me in a direction so I can learn. Its getting expensive to totally redo the resevoir every 7 days.
