Live Stoner Chat How do you photograph your ladies?

So far it looks like compact point and shoots and a few dslr. I wonder if folks are using their cell phones. I don't know if that is a good idea as the phone is also a gps device. Anybody got any 411 on phone photos trackable via internal gps?

Turn off your GPS/location settings on your phone. As added insurance, strip the EXIF data from the image before uploading it.

Well, on Android, you just have the GPS off and it can't record that data. Tye data you're thinking of is called EXIF data, and includes stuff like make and model of camera/phone and photography info like lighting and shutter speed. It can include GPS info. But in Android, all the stock and optional camera apps I know of have GPS encoding off by default, and you have to manually switch on the phones GPS anyway for it to even be able to do that. Plus, there's tons of Android apps which you can get that will go through and strip the photos of the EXIF data for added security if you want. Some photo editor apps used for cropping and resizing also have an option to strip EXIF data. :)

For Apple, I can't say and don't care lol, but I know that the iPhones like to do things automatically, like turn on your GPS...

Just for the record, EXIF data doesn't contain any serial numbers or anything specifically identifying, mostly junk like model number. You can even spoof in false GPS data if you really wanted to. As long as your GPS is off, who cares what model Nikon you have lol.

Nikon D7100
I swap between the 18-105mm kit lens and a 35mm F/1.8G

Atm Samsung S2 Phone Cam with propper Settings. But saving some bucks atm for a Dslr thought bout Canon Eos 600d as it often gets used for Plant Photography or Animals from Mates which Study Photograph over here.

Frustratingly with an iPhone 4S. I'm due for an upgrade in a couple of weeks so we'll see what the new Galaxy S6 can do soon.

Canon Rebel 2Ti with stock lens mostly but also picked up a $20 4pcs Vivitar macro lens set which works surprisingly well actually.

Anthropolis is correct and that was an excellent description of EXIF files and geotaging. I thought a link to a little more in-depth tutorial might be useful to some:

I also thought I would provide a link for a tutorial in macro photography with a point N shoot camera as it is different than for a dslr. I hope this helps some folks.

Finally, Roarke 2.0 after looking on line, I would suggest you look at either New egg or best buy. Most any point N shoot will do, just check out a few macro tutorials on line and practice. The chance of taking good photos increases when know your equipment well.

eyes how do you like your Nikon? It is hillarious to watch all of the brand name sniping at DP digital. Nikon is the best, no Canon is the best. Equipment makes a difference, but the photographers skill with the equipment and the photographer's ability to translate what they want to express to the viewer makes a hell of a lot more difference when it comes to successful photography than what camera and lense you use.
Hans I love my 2ti, in fact it is my backup body. You know once you start buying glass they got ya. I have more money in my glass than my bodies for sure, but now I'm locked into canon which is fine with me as I happen to like canon (duh), still it is galling, nikon has some wonderful glass as well.
