New Grower How much to run a 1000 watt light per month in the UK?

Hi everyone,i was wondering if anyone from the UK could shed some light on how much i could expect to pay to run a 1000 watt light each month on a 20/4 light cycle? Im going to be moving into my own place soon and will be upgrading my grow setup and just want to work out how much im going to need to save up to get started.Cheers!

1000 watts= 1 kilowatt

( killowatts x your rate per kilowatt-hour x 24 ) x 30= should give you a close approximation.

Hi 420ing...to add to what pop22 posted, I think the unit rate in the UK is variable according to region, but 10p a unit (kW/hour) is not too far off. So 20 units a day equals 2 quid, or about 60 quid a month.

Cheers after taking all that into consideration i recon starting at 250-300 watts next time might be a better option for me!

HID lights also consume another 100-125 watts to run the ballast. I could run SIX of the 300 watt LED grow lights I have on 1100 watts! ( actual power consumption for mine is 180-185 watts ) 185 x 6= 1110 watt to run 6 lights!

If it's as cheap as that then i would actualy run at least 600 watts of LED's once i've moved!
