Hi all

So ive been drying my harvest for past 2 weeks, temps have been under 10 degrees pretty much the whole time and humidity around 80%

The stems are bending but not breaking, i can see the green colour has faded from the stalks and also can see the buds have kinda shrivelled a little

My question is how to judge when to move the buds into jars as last time i think i jarred too early and they didn't really have that nice weed smell

At the moment there is a kind of hay smell off them but my fingers smell of weed if I handle the buds

Thanks!

Dude, do you have any way to reduce humidity? General formula is RH% : 10 +1 = days you need to dry. So in your case 80:10+1 = 9 days. I would advise you to use a drying net you can get one or just paper bags.

@yosim 80% humidity is very high- they will dry eventually. But at that humidity bud rot can set in fast. I lost 6oz of good bud in the summer drying in those conditions.
Keep plenty of airflow in the room your drying in. And invest in a couple of small hygrometers. There only a couple quid from ebay.
When the buds feel dry fill a jar and stick in a hygrometer too if it reads anything over 62% let them dry longer.
I aim for 60% im the jars then just leave them in there to cure

Thanks everyone, no mould as low temps, airflow is fine, they took about 2 weeks but i jarred a little yesterday and humidity around 60%
It takes a while to get to know when they are dry enough, this is only my second grow
Thanks [emoji1]

Hey, i jarred my bud with a hygrometer, started at about 60% but today it read 70%, guessing I need to leave the lids open for a bit or even take them out altogether??

Best to take them out altogether and let them dry some more dude. Or the buds at the top of the jar would dry out more that the rest
