I think he is talking about exposed cobs. There is co2 in the air we breath. It has no affect on lights at all but as pop said it's only beneficial when lights are on.
How about this:
1.82 gpw: DIY 285w LED cannabis grow light in a 4x4 tent, yielding 521g
Timber was a deal a few months ago but currently it's no comparison to sourcing your own parts. I bought plenty of those kits when parts came to 85per cob separately. Then add in the fact he is using 35 watt sst105 heatsinks on 50w driven cobs and no explanation when I voiced my concern. Still a decent kit just not as economical as it once was.
As far as new tech taking over, in my main room I'm still running 3070's which are very old at this point. I still pull around 1.5gpw with the 3070's like I did when they were new. New cobs could help but not worth the upgrade until they become allot better then what I have now.
Also very expensive considering citizens price and performance. You can buy 3 citizens and a coffee vs 1 Cree.
If you want it easy peasy.... you take your pic... tasty or Amare. I have an amare panel and it is very very nice and is one sexy light. But the tasty is a bad ass lamp as well my friend....
If you want to diy timber makes some kits that are ready to go with very little work... but still some lol... if I had 5 grand in hand for LIGHTS ONLY...... ide be rocking a room full of amare 450s.... just my 2 cents
Hello @BigSm0
Thanks for your post. Unfortunately, your data is incorrect. We utilize Cooliance CPL10070-XXX heat sinks which are rated for up to 73 Watts under passive conditions - here is a link to Cooliance's datasheet for that heat sink:
http://www.cooliance.com/Assets/Datasheets/CPL100-XXX-Series-Data-Sheet.pdf
Additionally, we consulted with the Cooliance engineering team when selecting the appropriate passive heat sinks to use in our kits.
Citizen LEDs are very well priced - Cree CXB3590 COB LEDs have a long history of being successful in growing cannabis - and there are countless documented successful grows using them under varying conditions with varying strains.
Regards,
Dan
