This is the inside of a res I used for a grow using mega crop. My valves were caked in the stuff too. I mixed medium-high hard city tap water with RO water 50/50 for all the nute mixes. I'm surprised at how much residue I get.

Did you try that drip clean stuff?

That's quite a lot of residue. I've never had that much in my res, only once in my trays. Good luck scrubbing bro.

Besides slight water line but my ppm is 1600 at that time

My city water is 300ppm. And I was mixing in 50% of RO in the res in that picture. I think its high calcium as mentioned above. It's a glacier fed water source here, if that's a factor.

Given the visual evidence I'd say the local water is not good for growing. And the new RO filter thats on the way will end up being once of cheapest but best tools in my grow toolbox.

your PPM is insanely high, but it looks like you're not getting any hard water sediment build up. I'm getting to think its not just how high the PPM, but its actually more about the mineral makeup.
