Grow Mediums James' first grow - DP Autoglueberry with autopots

He'll guys,

Thanks very much for your advice, @Sensi Jay @HemiSync. Thanks for the slap to man.

I have just dropped them half an hour go. 80w LED as high as it will go. I I tried to put the tap root as vertical as I could in the hole, the seed just below the surface just slightly covered with Coco. I misted two cups slightly and put them over. The tap roots were really strong, I hope they sprout.

I am beginning to realise from you guys less is more I think.

Do any of your guys not get the seed to sprout at the stage that I have mine now? Not something that you might want to admit I suppose

Cheers

Less is always more in a grow and with autopots twice as much. At one time I had killed more seeds than I had grown to harvest, might still be true. :smoking: Yea, like Sensi Jay says, no guarantees, but more than likely if your medium is right they will be poking out of the coco in a day or two. With the way I do it it's up to a week but I prefer not transplanting at all if possible. I breed a lot of my own seeds and when I have lots of extras I will put two seeds in every pot and after a couple weeks pull the lesser one.

A bit of an update

I put the beans in the Coco with the taproot a few mm out of the seed this time yesterday. I got in from work half an hour ago to find that they have come above the surface but still kind of In the seed. Does this look normal?

Temp around 22-23°c and RH is 35-40% outside of the cups covering the seedlings.

Some reassurance would be great guys. Do the seedlings look right for being put in the Coco around 24 hours ago. The Led is as high as it will go. Some comments etc would great from you guys.

Cheers

Hey @James0807 sometimes the seed shell gets stuck on like that, usually it will fall off by itself but sometimes they may need a bit of assistance... I'd give it about 12 hours above ground and it if it's still stuck on then very gently pull it off with some tweezers.

@HemiSync @Sensi Jay @Hansbricks @budelee

Thanks for all of the advice getting to this stage, the leaves are out although very small at the moment. Going to leave them under the cups for another couple of days as they are very small. Would you class this as day one as the comparison in size to hansbricks day one in his grows is massive.

I am really happy they have sprouted it shows I have done it pretty much correct I think.

Moved the 80w led down to around 40" and let the cups on until they strengthen up a little, misted the inside of the cups with water and sprayed a couple of ml sprayed on top of the coir.

Any other suggestions at this point? When do you think I should consider getting the maxibright 315 on them, don't want to stress them as that is one powerful lamp man.

Is this technically day one and should i count to day five from here as I want to give them a feed at the best time really.

J

Sure looks like day one to me. :welcome: to the world little ones. I came up with my feeding schedule after reading this wonderful journal by @hansbrick & my experience on my first autopot grow.

And my schedule is just a reminder for me, I still read my plants and adjust accordingly.
