Grow Mediums James' first grow - DP Autoglueberry with autopots

Hi guys,

Thanks for calling in

I have visited an LST thread and think i have it saved. Can anyone provide a thread that they think is the best info about LST.

I am right in thinking i should only start on the bloom nutes when the plants have stopped growing upward

Ditto Hemi's advice on LST. Loads of fun and very rewarding. Just expect to break something (once!)-- it will bum you out, but it's how you'll learn what a stem can tolerate. -- Kinda like getting first dent or scratch on a new car - just part of the break-in process. But give it a try, you don't want to miss out on what great results you'll get in terms of the plant's growth.

Many auto growers don't go to bloom nutes until the stretch is done. I'm trying something new for me, which is once preflower has started hard and stretching I start transitioning to bloom nutes 25% at a time. My last 10 liters in the reservoir was 75/25% grow/bloom. Next will be 50/50 and so on.

That sounds like it could be complicated, i could lose track. What difference in results are you expecting from the change you are administering?

I'm using bloom base nutes start to finish, seems to be fine in my setup. When i get to where they're blooming pretty hard, i start adding bloom boosters.

Actually it's just a suggestion from a fellow grower that I respect and thought I would give it a try. Expected results.....ehh if I get an easier transition I will be happy. I have had some rough switches where suddenly my girls look like they have been burnt to death.I can afford to check this out, since my meds stash is fairly stable. I highly recommend starting off, as many auto growers and following the veg nutes till stretch is finished. Once you learn what a particular strain wants you can dial it in and repeat the process with better results, but the previously mentioned method will get you through to harvest in most cases.

I too, have seen some grows that were based on the Lucas formula. The one I liked the most was using FloraNova Bloom from seed to harvest with great results. I have a friend that mixing more than one bottle of nutrients would be beyond his abilities. He grows outdoors and had great luck with that very mix and in addition it keeps him from reverting to miracle-gro.

Decent man, what did he say would be the main difference in the end result of the staggered change
They did not really say, but I trust pop22 when he tells me to try something. He is the one that convinced me that flushing is just starving your plants.
