I used the plastic saucers under the fabric pots, and the runoff still collects in the saucer after running down the side. Nice part of using fabric pots is if you want to leave it in the saucer, as the soil dries it will reabsorb (what hasn't evaporated that is) back in through the fabric.

Yes but the PH measurements just might be 'off' if the water didn't pass through the soil all the way from top to bottom is what I was thinking.
