That's a good idea, tumblers are easy to use and easy to make I'm sure. I was thinking about using big rubbermaid totes, or galvanized garbage cans is what I believe a few recipes suggest using with a tarp liner.

Bugs will certainly be present :smoking:...mostly beneficial it's kind of how it works. Worm bin is good in the garage, maybe not compost a pile but a compost tumbler may be the ticket

That's pretty cool I have to say, I could live like that as long as I have a shotgun for the mosquitos lol

@MordecaiAlliVanAllenOshea
I'ma compost grower. I compost my own poop, humanure, with green stuff from around the house, fish waste from the fish rack, and whatever we or the dogs don't eat. Obviously you wouldn't wanna do this in your garage:biggrin: I think Jraven's worm bin thing the cleanest for indoor. Anyway, here's my "flow chart"......compost to raised garden bed, and after 2yrs, ready for the greenhouse. Every thing, except the advent of winter, goes slow in the arcticView attachment 1010460

A compost pile left to it's own devices will stink at some point for a time. The worm bin avoids that and a tumbler would minimize that I believe though I haven't used one

Or I could do a black soldier fly composter, those critters are wicked. Stinking garage would be no bueno!

Mosquitoes can be a freak-out. A couple of simple strategies helps, and they have a short season, bout 1 & 1/2 months of "bad"

We have the worm bin here in the living room that's how good those worms are. You're in OR so worms should be fine in the garage. The compost piles are away from the house...in this cool wet climate it works pretty slow.
slow yeah!, I think rust develops faster than my compost:crying:
