Once you get past the "blarghhhhh metal metal metal metal blaaaahhh roarrrr" vocals, you'll hear a LOT of emotion in that song. I've been playing music for 20+ years, So the first thing I do is pick apart songs in my head while I listen to them.
Like...what I do:
Find a random song, by a random band you've never listened to.
Close your eyes while it plays.
Break the song down into separate tracks.
Then tune in the vocals.
Then play the song again without tearing it apart mentally.

I'm thinking of completely switching up how I play, And going back to metal.
Much more fulfilling.
Can't jump out in the crowd and grind on people at 300+bpm, But still...lmao
