it dont get to hot as hps, its about 2 or 3c degrees above ambient temperature.

Hello, Captain B.

Cree LEDs will do the job for sure. Unfortunatelly there is no way that aluminium heatsinks do the job properly. Neither do copper ones. That is why totally silent LEDs are so rare, otherwise everybody would avoid fans. But that does not mean lights do not work. In the past, I had tested similar lights (before Grow Northern came on the market with diaphragm cooling) and I must tell you that all were disappointment. Simply too hot.

But there is a solution and that is an outer fan directed on heatsinks. Using it, you would see that heatsinks remain much, much cooler if ventilated and the difference between temperature of heatsink and LEDs is crucial for quick heat exchange between them. The bigger the difference, the stronger the heat exchange (cooling).

You have only one light, so it will be easy to provide some additional cooling. If you will not do that, you might loose some LEDs (they melt down) due to heat with time. Or deteriorate the quality of light which will not be visible at all. LEDs change wavenlenght a little bit when too hot.

Good luck!

Diolch yn fawr gonzo for your comment Bach, I'll soon see how hot it gets and will report here when it's fired I will run the panel on its own for a day to record max temps, then run both and again record temps I'm just intrigued to see how led performs, I might even do a 1 plant grow with an auto in 50 litre sack with just using the led !!! We see Bach we see [emoji2]
