Hello Everyone,
This is a grow that consists of extra seedlings I had started for a couple other crops but ended up not needing them after all. I always try to germinate extras to be able to get the certain amount I need and in case some are not strong enough candidates. The problem with germinating extra seeds is that I always have leftovers I don’t need and never have the heart to throw them away. This last germination run I had 6 of Sawney’s Slaughter Lambs and 5 of his Lecters that were extras. Took me awhile to figure out what I wanted to do with them but had time to think about it since they were already growing in the 4x4” rock wool cubes. I finally came up with a plan and thought I would do something different this time. Instead of placing the 4x4” rock wool cubes on a larger slabs like I would usually do, I just sat them on top of a 4x4x3” rock wool cube as their final growing media. My goal here is to hopefully grow 30-40 gram plants with very little root mass… similar to a solo cup grow but in hydro. With a little bit of training and a lot of pruning I think I’ll be able to create a nice dense canopy of buds.
Hope everything goes well.

Another question m8 if u don't mind.. I've read quite a lot of comments about reservoir temps in hydro and how they need to be kept under a certain temp or maybe within a certain range.. what is your experience of that?? I ask because my little tent regularly gets over 30c and that's not something i can change sadly.. if I were to put an ebb and flow in there would it be too warm for the res solution at 30c???

I'm definitely subbed as always lol. :pop:
I'm with @hope2grow you have so much grow space it makes me jealous :crying: I did have a quick question, on your 2x2 what tray do you use and how does that tray fit in your tent? I've been hesitant about getting one as they seem to measure a bit big and was worried it won't fit.

First in :pop: startin to wonder how many rooms are in your house bro hahaha 10 bedrooms.. tents in 7 of them im guessing :crying:Great to see another SoG on the go and great info again in your thread.. you have this down to a fine art my friend :worship::pighug:
Lol! I knew that was coming bro. You keep a good eye on my grows and figured you would be questioning me sooner or later. I just harvested the Mini SOG, the Blueberries and the Nugz grow so I had tents available for new crops. I currently have 2 24x48” tents in the garage and 2 other smaller tents in one of the bedrooms in the house. I’m teaching a friend how to grow right now so I have my 5x5’ set up at his house. Little bit difficult maintaining the 5x5’ but my buddy and I hit the gym together everyday then go back to his house to drink protein shakes and do our gardening. Haha

I’ve heard the same thing but never ran into a problem with fluctuating reservoir temps. As you know I have most of my tents in my garage where it gets really hot in the summer and never had a issue… even when my tents are over 95 degrees inside. I’ve run aquarium heaters before when it gets cold but don’t anymore and haven’t noticed a difference.

Hey Bro,
I use a 24x24” Botanicare ebb&flow tray. It’s a little tight in my 24x24” tent but works well.

This one might work too but the OD is 30” so you would have to cut the lip off around the perimeter.

Wow 95 and no issues.. that's great news for any potential flood and drainer  do u have a lid on your res? Is that essential? It's the little details that make the difference :pighug:

Yes… they can take the heat. The tents in the garage have been over 95 the last few days and the plants don’t seem to mind the high heat at all.

No lid bro. Couldn’t find one that would work for the mortar mixing tubs I use in the 24x48” tents. With the 24x24” tents it’s not an issue because the tray sits directly on the reservoir and acts as a lid. Thinking of possibly putting a sheet of plastic over the top of the reservoirs to see if it brings down my R/H a little.
