I had no clue was curious myself always seemed a little odd to me seeing folks put rockwool in soil. Makes sense they break down in the soil much better i was just googling and that laid it pretty simple

I don't really feel like that is a super fair comparison.

Rockwool is slightly alkaline...you just have to rinse it. I just rinse it in a bowl in my sink and then fling the water out of it and let it soak up some distilled water afterwards.

And saying its made of rock...but not biodegradable. Its rock, lol. Its basically cotton candy made from spinning lava out of fine holes.
I mean, is "rock" biodegradable?

Well IMO since they are inert and alkaline they should be soaked in the low strength nutes to the proper ph not distilled water. But I am a coco grower the most I do is start in a solo cup with the media I am using for the grow.


It takes rock a lot longer to break down over peat like years more but I am no scientist or anything like..

Last I checked no rock is not biodegradable! If u leave a rock it is not gonna break down on its own! Maybe the elements will break it down around the next dinosaur era! Humans will be long gone tho!

Something i just thought of but i could probably further increase my germination rates if i stopped using freaking 8.0+ph tap water to soak my seeds in!

I think I’ve heard of Cree before… I did learn what top bin LEDs means though even though some of these lights have the same brand & model diodes. All diodes are graded in 4 levels so if a cheap light has top end stuff it possible they are using lower bin diodes to save on costs
