Hi,

I'm new to autoflower.net. Good people at the GWE forum suggested I ask this community.

Basically as the title says, I'm looking to upgrade but I have exactly zero exp with leds.
Leds because tired of heat management with HPS and they aren't as heavy and bulky.
My first choice was the viparspectra 1200 because they're cheap and have good reviews, plus I've seen journals where they have been used.
I assume UV and IR are important. Since viparspectra lacks UV and I stumbled on COBs, my choice went for the MaxBloom cob.
Basically I have no idea what to choose and what is good etc etc. Reviews and opinions on the net are really diverse.

Sorry if the question has already been posted.
Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello and welcome to AFN. How big of a space/tent and plants are you trying cover? There is platinum led and unitfarm led. But I'm using the Autocobs 55w in my tent one per plant.

Viparspectra is a horrible company. The lights suck. Customer service is non-existent.

The only reason I got a refund is because Amazon stepped in.

Mars Hydro is a cheap option that doesn't suck at all.

Or build your own cob setup.

Good luck!

Cobshop is the cheapest and by far the best ive seen in cob

Not true. Best COB is 1825 or Vero 29 at "our currents", or 3618 at higher current (150+W per COB).
And with DIY, you can get cheaper.

Also, there are PCB boards or strips, which are up to 230 lumens per watt, or 212 lumens per watt in real life.

To replace 1000W, you'll need 700-750W.

Well i along with several others here are running one 50w cob per plant and doing just fine not wasting wattage to convert to light. 750w of cob would be seen from the moon
