Ass off the couch, time to document a grow.

2 our of 3 germinated. One didn't produce chlorophyll beyond the cotyledon. Net one plant.

I'm reaching back 4 weeks and I'll try to remember what was going on.

Some deets:

GEAR:

• 240w-300w COB
• 6" basket of Hydroton on 5gal buckets
• Recirculating drip.
• 5gal reservoir outside the tent
• 3×3×6' tent
• Up to 450 CFM CanFan leading to a big filter outside the tent.
• Irrigation pump
• Drainage pump

NUTES ETC:

• Advanced Nutrients pH Perfect GMB. BigBud during bloom.
• Miicrobial Mass
• Chitosal (Chitosan and Salicylic acid)
• NPK RAW Carbon (humic acid)
• NPK RAW Kelp extract
• NPK RAW Silica
• Purpinator
• HOCL

I like the Advanced Nutrients but they are expensive. If I run out during this grow I will look at alternatives.

I had just reconfigured the system for 2 plants but had to re-reconfigure for a single plant.

She seems tall and spindly to start but otherwise looking healthy.

I thought it's a bit slow to get this far. Given the low germ rate I think they might not be very fresh seeds

Branches are now long enouph for some leaf tucking

Managed to cut some ¾" PVC pipe and drill holes.

Mounted pipes to the tent frame.

When my joints feel better I will attach 3.5" net, hopefully before she needs it.

Reference to live stoners discussion: I put an airstone in the grow bucket to address the hourly drainage backflow. Hopefully that works almost like a shallow DWC to keep roots healthy.

Before next grow I will replumb and rewire to raise that pump above res level.

Ok. Caught up. This is today
Got in and attached the net. Hoping the plant ties are enough 'cause I ran out of zip ties.

I'll lower it maybe in a few days. I should wait untill its taller than the drip manifold.

For now, she's tied down to anchors on the basket lid.

I also turned on the 5th COB bringing it to 300w.

It's a "10 week" strain so 12+ weeks I think.

She was a slow starter so probably on the + side.

So I've no idea about full hydro growing. I see you get them started in rockwool plugs. How do you decide when to put them into the cups with the hydroton?

And then the thin black tubes with the emitters? You run the pump to those a few times a day until the roots reach the water/nute mix in the bucket? Then it's just the res, pump, airstone to keep it going? Sorry, I've read a bunch but some of these steps still confuse me. Hydro is fuckin cool way to grow.
