So today I got a 1000W lighting system for pretty cheap and i'm so happy :drool:! Im moving up from a cheap 250w t5 and idk if it was that much, But i'm excited to see the difference in my plants! any predictions from you guys as to what exactly this big of a jump will me? I know healthier plants but how about speed? that kind of stuff

You should see increased growth and potential yield but it won't have a big effect on the overall time. The biggest difference will be the increased heat from the HPS compared to the T5. Hope your ventilation is up to it. Also, pay attention to the height of the HPS. Their high heat can burn the tops of the plants if set too low.

Yeah it hasn't been 24 hours yet and I feel the heat difference I know my plants are getting a looottt more light now. I just raised my light higher because I can just tell this light is really powerful I don't need it any closer. As for my ventilation its pretty legit I knew when I bought this setup that the vent system I bought was the best deal its pretty strong. Ill watch the temp closely today and make sure its not to hot, btw what would you suggest being to hot for my plants? I have 5 soil and 1 hydro, I know the hydro rez is going to be a problem if I don't act fast

Place your hand at the top of the biggest plant, palm down. Leave it there for about 30 seconds. If it feels too hot on the back of your hand, it's too hot for the plants. Ideally you want the temperature at the plant tops to be around 82 degrees (82 °C = 180 °F). Yes, you might need to address your hydro res. Ideally you want it to be in the 65 - 70 degree (70 °C = 158 °F) range. Short of buying a chiller you might be able to insulate it and keep the temps in a descent range.

I have a 5.5ft tent so I have the light raised all the way to the top so they have distance. As for my rez temp right now I'm just putting a frozen water bottle in my bucket to keep it cold.

if ya had the money for venting and hps ya shuda got a led....

as for yeild from my 250 i was getin 3oz a plant and my 600 i got like 9 soil 20 hydro 1000 a few more, but damn leds so much more efficient and cheap now ida go led any time never go back

Yeah I might switch to a LED because this light is causing some serious heat and I don't think my vent system can handle it, even though its pretty strong the heat in my tent is to high and my actully room feels it to

defo the way to go mate 90% of what ur payingfor on a hps is wasted in un needed heat

led ive run it now solong with no fans lol its mad and ofc i got a smal 4inch on now for smell lol but otherwise no and i am pulling the same now as i was with hps lol plants like 27 degrees what temps ur room at
