Lighting Mars Hydro SP250

I splurged and finally ordered a Mars hydro SP 250 and a 2 x 4 tent (I liked the features)

Waited a week for it to arrive

Damaged

And to add insult to injury they’re refusing to collect it, ah the joys!

It was DHL. Mars hydro seem to have stopped replying to my emails now, maybe @MarshydroTina could jump in here and get this sorted for me?

I gotta say DHL has been a disaster for me lately as well. Damaged and opened packages all the time, i ain't using them no more unless i really have to. I don't get it, they used to be good.
I guess i got lucky with my tent and the SP-250, boxes were a little banged up but everything inside was ok.

Hope you get it worked out. I was looking at the same light. But id need 2 and I'm not ready to spend that yet. But if I start seeing some good reviews then that might change my mind. Good luck.

I am using 2 sp250s in a 4x4 tent now. First grow indoors and second grow in total. My results will not be that of an experienced grower but with that said, I am 3 weeks in and documenting everything. I am growing autos and am probably about a third of the way through according to the info from the breeder. I am using some LST and clipping a leaf or two here and there. No major cutting. I will post the results when I am finished. I have gotten some pretty negative comments on other sites about Mars Hydro lights. I purchased mine locally on the recommendation of the shop. They do sell higher end lights but recommended the sp250. According to the shop " you get a lot of light for not a lot of money". Personally I was blown away by how much lights can cost, even these. They are built well and the tests I've seen on YT show the claims made as to output are pretty spot on.

I've seen the bad mouthing of the Mars lights as well. Id like two like you have. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Maybe it was their older lights people didn't like, I don't know? But I can tell you this, I've sure seen a lot of people using them, and with good results. A lot of the negative comments come from veteran growers that run high-end equipment , not everyone can $1k or several thousands on lights. For that matter not everyone wants to spend that for a hobby even if money isn't an issue. And yes, I was shocked like you at how much some leds and a driver can cost!? Wtf?!
Two of those lights in a 4x4 tent should give you good results IMO. I'll sub in on your journal if you have one. I've got one going, I'm only 2 1/2 weeks in and half have started to grow, the others half are still lagging behind. And I'm also just going to do some light LST. I'd like to do more, topping, quadlinning? looks cool, etc.. But I'm afraid to mess up my plants. Maybe next grow. Good luck bud!
