Live Stoner Chat Mellow Out!!!

Welcome! I think the two LED option might be better for the future. It would allow you to have one light higher or lower if you have plants of different heights, would allow one to still be used if one goes down. Best of luck and welcome again!
Thanks you sold me on the two lights because only in a perfect world we get things to go how we want them to. I wasn't even thinking about if I would need to adjust the light I was thinking I could put a pot on something that levels it out but moving it's own light would be less of a task than finding the perfect height object to place under a pot. Thanks again

Multiple smaller lights....modularity.

3 independently adjustable LED fixtures....really helps maximize light penetration/distance for different sized plants.

And, WELCOME!
I'm officially sold on more lights. I love your setup by the way. Thanks for your help. What size tent are you running?

It's a 4' x 2' x 5' Apollo Horticulture from Amazon...good tent.

Lights:

2X - 135W UFOs Full Spectrum
1X - 3Wx96 - 300W Full Spectrum
2X - 60W CFLs (5500k & 6500k) mostly for heat since the LEDs don't generate a ton of warmth.

Yeah, my tent is in a garage at 8000ft elevation so it gets cold in there overnight...especially in the winter.
Over the summer I don't need them.

Yeah with two lights, you can use those ratcheting S ropes to adjust em independently. Even the cheaper version ratchets (1/8 size I think? a pair is under $10) will be fine for holding 1 led light each. Or if you're tight on cash, you can do like I did for a year and use gardening chains and D clips lol. With the ratchets, ya lose about a foot of height too, cuz the ratches even all the way up are about a foot long. That's probably fine if ya got a 5 or 6 foot tent. If ya got like a 3 foot / 1 metre tent, then you'll have to mount the lights more permanently to the roof bars anyway ha. :)

I eventually cut a serious metal shower rod, attached my led's, cfl's, clip on fan, and main fan adjuster knob to the metal shower rod, and used the thicker 1/4 size ratchets on each end of the rod with holes drilled in the rod and J hooks through the rod. Can adjust it all kindsa ways!

Thanks again for the tip. I'm going to put my tent in the free corner in my bedroom

Hi there Action, and welcome aboard. I use the ratchets too, and love them. I have chains in 1 cab, and although sturdy as all hell, it's also a pain in the rump. Ratchets are an ease to use.

I just upgraded to a 6.5' tall tent, but in my 5' tent I had problems loosing height with the ratchets. I just wanted to show you this to give you an idea and back up @Anthropolis comment.

This is my current max height.

Obviously with an LED you would have more height, but when you start adding pots, and lights, and the consideration of light distance from the plant, the tent start to get short really fast. Best of luck, and if you need anything just ask.
