...and the snowstorm begins.....

It's just that time of the year!

Haha, mega frost indeed! I don't believe there's any bleaching, the Tyrone is probably 20" inches below the light, and off to the side a bit too. You should definitely throw some Tyrones in soil when you get a chance. they're terrifically frosty and extremely easy to grow. All the best!

:tiphat:

After seeing an article on bud bleaching that showed white clumps of pistils, like my Tyrone buds have, I've decided it'd be best to raise the lights for the remainder of the grow. Hopefully I can bring them home happily.

I'm getting the same bleaching on my Steel City Blues and Sour Crack. You're an LED guy too, yeah? I moved my lights up twice now, but the bleaching has continued unfortunately. I don't wanna move them up much further as i'm not getting the light penetration through the dense canopy as much now. I'm in a bit of a quandary about it to be honest!!

Hey Nute, I'm in the same boat with you pal. I'll be finding out soon enough how the less intense light produces. Have you noticed less dense buds since raising your lights? I think some plants may also be much more prone to bleaching theb others. Best of luck!

Agree 100% that some plants are more prone to it - i've got another Sour Crack in the same tent that is at least a week ahead of the bleached ones, and she's starting to get chunky, all at day 49. I only raised the lights a few days ago so can't compare production. It may just be coincidence that the 2 bleached ones i've got are behind the non-bleached one though... Have you got a link to the article you read mate?

Cheers pal. I've read that before actually that site has some really great info on it. I was once under the impression that bleached canna is just as potent but this article says it's got no potency whatsoever. I've moved my LEDs up another 6 inch today as mine are still bleaching! Hope you're having better luck mate.

Peace

if you raised the lights and still see some bleaching, its likely that its because it may take a day or wto for all the damage to be obvious. for most leds, its seems that 12-16" is the bare minimum that you can lower your lights to, really about the same as HPS/MH lights except for the low power ones ( 175 watts or less )
