Greetings :tiphat:

I grow in a 14in wide, 1ft deep and 2ft high enclosed cab using 1 gallon smart pots. After moving in from outdoor growing, it seems my plants are racing through the life cycle. I mean my plants are finishing in 7 to 9 weeks in my cab compared to 10 to 12 weeks outdoor.

Is this typical for growing in smaller spaces with smaller pots and lights? :dunno:

Thanks in advance

ok.. so I was going to delete this post but I see I no longer have that option. Anyway, after browsing the micro grows here, plants look to be finishing at normal times. However, I've also come across some posts in other sections of this site, strongly suggesting that the pot size can influence the life cycle as the roots hit the walls quicker and trigger flowering earlier in smaller pots.

I'm going with that. :coffee2:

I think you're on the right track - autoflowers put a lot of energy into the root system before showing growth above the ground. I've done grows with 1g pots next to 3g pots and the larger ones always start slower and finish later (but yield more). I think the lighting and environmental conditions also come into play between indoor and outdoor. It's always perfectly sunny and hopefully the right humidity and temp indoors, which will help the plant finish sooner than one outdoors that has to deal with a lot more variables.

DO you thinkg root pruning pots would make any diffeence? I do notice the plants I have in bags (3 gal), are doing better than the ones in the pruning pots, but I don't see a difference, at least any noticable one at this point, that the pruning pots which are smaller one gallon sized, are finishing faster than the bagged ones.

But they sure look hella nice.

Great Thread

Peace

definitely on right track this is some thing i noticed in the early days of growing autos pot size and temp can influence the finishing time not just yield i was growing a landrace strain that i took up too f9 that finished in 70 days she was very stable and when put in a very small pot cup size she would finish in 63 days a full week less and would go into flower a full week earlier than others in large pots grown in the same conditions i think variables will always affect finishing times not many comparison grows/threads around exploring temp and pot size on finishing times unfortunately

They usually stay within one to two nodes while the roots are exploring. Once the roots figure out how much room they have, the upper growth is usually substantial
