Mini Kratky 1.0
Here it is, ready to go! The bucket is a mayonnaise jar painted black. I cut out the lid with a 2" hole saw.Got my seed soaking now just wait...I'm excited! LOL, my curiosity gets the best of me sometimes and I just had to try this! I have a regular Kratky bucket running right now, and I thought: Maybe and organic one would be even better. My thinking is, that with a good colony of beneficial microbes in the bucket already, there will be no room for the bad stuff...lol! Last night, I filled the teaball with some used organic soil, soem soil scraped of my compost pile, a pinch of composted manure, and a dusting of Growmore Organic Soil Builder. I added rain water to the bucket and put the teaball in. I checked this morning and she's just bubbling away! I'll dilute the tea before I put the seedling in and slowly increase the strength of concentration in the3 container.
UPDATE: I'm now on version 1.1....lol! I changed the design of the bucket and instead of using the foam, I'm going to use a 2" net pot as it fits perfectly. The seed has gone from soaking to a paper towel to germ. I'll leave it a couple days or until it has at least 1" tap root, then plant it in the net pot.
