Hi people long time reader of your awesome forum. I have an issue which has stumped me, iv'e been growing for 8 years on and off. And have grown with my below setup twice before successfully. Find below an image of a some what small 3 week old plant. New growth is lime green and i have no idea why. At 1st i thought mag or sulpher but have discounted both through diagnoses. I think this is Iron but im not sure and im stumped why. I foolishly added 3ml of calmag by mistake into last weeks rez, wonder if i have a lockout? The only item i have upgraded is my pump and air stones. Been having a dig around google and apparently larger pumps and new air stones can induce iron def? Any help would be much appreciated.

A) Light 180w led
B) Distance from tops? 16inch
D) What are the bulb wattages, kelvin ratings, and schedule? Pro grow duel spectrum. 20/4
E) Is there a consistent fresh air supply? every hour.
F) Do you have an exhaust fan and a circulation fan? yes
G) Size of reservoir? 18ltr sdwc

Your nutrients and water:
H) ph 5.5 let it rise to 5.9 then lower.

K) What is the ec/ppm of your nutrient solution? 0.5 all in.
L) What is the temperature of your nutrient solution? 23c/25c
M) Does your ec/ppm show a rise or fall when you do your daily PPM check? Not yet with this grow
O) Do you foliar feed? If so, with what, how often, and at what time do you
spray? (Just after lights come on, just before they go out...) Nope.
P) How often do you replace reservoir water/nutes? Once a week

Usually light green means low nitrogen but i'm not a hydro guy so i'll move your thread to the hydro sec for a better response.

Thanks Nam. Pretty sure low N starts on the lower leaves as its mobile.

It looks like it's only on the top leaves. Did it start near the center of the leaves and work outward toward the edges?

Hey man, I think all the relevant info is here:

The silica could be dropped for these early stages.
0.5 total EC is a good place to start but by week 3 she is going to be wanting more, I would up your total EC to around 1.0-1.2.
Those temps could cause some root issues but if you've used the system before with success I'm sure you will be okay, you could look into preventative measures such as Dutch Masters Zone, been hearing good things about that.

Judging by the pic I would say it's Nitrogen she wants and upping the EC should balance her out again - I've only completed a couple of hydro grows so please don't take my opinion for facts, just trying to help out where I can! :peace:

Correct, which as far as i'm aware would again point to iron def?

Isn't an ec of 1 or above quite high for an auto? Nitrogen would be the obvious answer but the symptoms don't correlate; new growth only, starts at the centre of the leaf, there is an amount of N already in the bucket.

Thanking you all for the help!

As I mentioned I'm not overly experienced, I can only tell you how I go about it :) A lot of autos can take higher than 1.0 EC especially towards flowering. I start them off at 0.8 for week 1, week 2 is 1.0 and week 3 either 1.0 with stronger nutes or 1.2 with the same baby feed. That's why 0.5 EC sounds low to me  You could try upping the EC to 0.7 just to see if it benefits your girl at all? I'm not sure what the remedy is for Iron def off the top of my head but there is a chart or all deficiencies on this forum so I'll go have a gander :) :peace:

No, not iron. If it's only the top leaves and it started in the middle and worked out toward the edges then it's light bleaching. I wouldn't expect to see bleaching from an 180 watt LED at 16". Did you have it a lot closer before?

Did we try and up the EC? Might just solve the problem
