New Grower New to growing have a cfl lighting question

I believe you are correct. Everyone has their preference I suppose, but more smaller wattage bulbs are better than one or two bigger ones. Nammy's light he made is pretty sweet, I have always liked it and the idea. What size are those bulbs, Nam?

Total Lumens 5805

(2) GE Energy Smart 55w CFL Bulb
200w Replacement
55w Uses
3860 Lumens
2700K
Total Lumen 7720

Total Lumen 13,525 for (1) plant.

What should I have done to get to 13,500 Lumen for one plant in a 2'x1'6"x4'6" steathy type cab. About 15cft or so...

More lights & less watts per bulb?

I don't know the tech specifications but for what it's worth I grow in a small space and use 1 x 130watt cfl at 11 000 lumens. It is 14 000k output and I had it set up like your (that is hanging straight down vertically). I shared a photo on this site and namvet suggested I turn my light horizontal and add a reflector, I modified like suggested I had two plants in 200mm containers and they started growing much quicker.

I am trying to figure something out now so all of my lights will be directional and have thier own reflector.. I accdendtly tounched the reflector to the metal switch part of another light hanging and it was spark central, so I think if the reflectors touch each other the will spark too? Thats why I currently only have 1? IDK.. I need to go buy another one and test it 1st.. if I have to, I'll just buy the clamp style and make sure they dont touch! Oh well guess we'll see what I come up with...

I use 6 wall mart CFLs I would recommend mixingspectrums start with 4 6,500K and 2 2,700K If your only going to be using onecolor for your whole grow I would use the 6,500 it keeps the plant stretching low.Also I would keep a fan on the lights I took light temps with and without fanand with lights only get to around 75* and plants can touch without burning, Iturned the lights off once they reached 140*F without fan cuz they started tosmell so keep a small fan pointed at lights. I had a plant grow in to a lightwithout burning with fans pointed at my lights. I am not using a reflector butwould recommend trying to make one.

Set up looks ok to me. Should get growth and flower but the more lumens the better the result.

so i was going to buy my cfl lights today how ever i saw a light by slyvania and it said spot to grow
65watt bulb and 350 or 800 lumens could i use this any advice would be great

I'm no expert by any means but I think if you went with those you would need like 5 or 6 of those per plant, and thats just for the veg stage... were they 6500K?

What i do is use 6500k through veg and pe flower, during flower i run a 50/50 mix of 6500k and 2700k and had great sucess. I grow in a small space and my 1st grow, and my 1 akr yielded 3.2 oz.. thats what I am going to be doing in my current grow. I have 6 cfls in my grow and during veg/pre flower and then add 2 more during flower. I use 26w 6500k ge 1650 lumens bulbs and ge 2700k 1710lumens bulbs. Nice setup! Good luck :thumbs:
