New Grower NL autos

NL autos day 43
  • Watered n gave the gurls a bit of GB and BB from fox farms with an added pinch of epsom salts. RH has been real low the last week due to a cold front so not
the best of environment :sadcry:for the girls who are now Janis, Joan, and Grace :meds::meds::meds:

NL autos day 46 surviving in spite of me
  • Ok so I think I know what cal/mag deficiency looks like. I took a lot of yellowing brown spotted leaves out. Probably too late for autos to correct it yet i'll do what I can do. Been thinking and reading a lot about how to go about my next attempt. For nutes it will be Greenleaf Nutrients Mega Crop, cal/mag if necessary, Bud Explosion and Sweet Candy. Haven't decided on the growing medium, maybe ProMix HP.
For now though, keep these puttering along and see what happens:meds::meds:

NL autos day 49 still chuggin along
  • What can I say other than I am learning what I will do different on the next grow. The girls are surviving in spite of my errors. Have done some serious defoliation due to cal mag, light distance, low RH and watering errors. I don't like to defoliate except as a light thinning. The plants like to use up those leaves when they are finishing.

Its been difficult to get the lighting dialed in as the plants aren't all that healthy. Recommended height is 12-18" for flower yet with the troubles they have had, I raised the lights to 22 inches. I also picked up a 9 inch fan that i hung in the tent to really get some air moving. Those 6" clip on's are gutless. Also got a humidifier to raise the RH a bit. And I have a more powerful exhaust fan on the way too. The 110cfm fan pushing air through 12 feet of duct is a bit weak.

For a strain that is easy to grow, I sure have made it difficult:rolleyes1:

I've been trolling @Garage_Grower and have picked up useful information from his journal. Much appreciated.

  • Well the girls are hanging in there. I'm nursing them along best I can at this point after multiple errors. Here's Grace, named after Grace Slick. She's the farthest along. There's been a few times where I almost chucked them and started over, yet as long as they hang in there, I'll hang with them. Nutes, ph, lighting, watering have all been off.

NL autos day 63 nine weeks
  • Have had the gurlz on GLN for 2 feedings now. Raised the lights to 24'' and some recovery is showing in them. Growth in the buds is a good green. All 3 are in different stages of finishing. Grace is the closest, Janis 2nd and Joan looks like she will be the 3rd to finish. Due to my screw ups, Joan has been mostly defoliated. See how she does. Reminds me of one of them poodle dogs that get shaved except for big puff on the tail and around the ankles. Grace is in the back, Joan in the front, Janis to the right. Ya there is a lot of damage to them but they keep on keeping on. Sorta like me.:yay:

Happy Solstice to all. The sun will soon be coming back!:jump:

NL autos day 70 week 10
  • Watering 2 cups as needed every 2 days or so with Mega Crop @ 2.5g per gallon, along with Sweet Candy and Bud Explosion @ .5 grams per gallon, and a pinch of Calmag Pro. I switched to to the Greenleaf Nutes about 2 weeks ago.
Six 50w cobs are sitting around 26 inches. With all the mistakes I've made this first grow, I'm happy :joy: the girls are doing this well.

This is a Grace bud here. She will be the first to chop. Probably 10 to 20 days ahead of Janice and Jane.

  • A view of the tent and lighting (6 fifty watt cobs). There's a nine inch, 3 speed fan hanging in the corner. On medium speed, it bounces off the back wall nicely. Outside the tent, there is a humidifier set up at the passive air intake. The amount of moisture going into the tent is controlled by opening up or closing a lower 4 inch tent vent sleeve. Works pretty well that way. Anyways, here's the setup. It's what there was room for, a 3 x 3. :stir:

    Thanks for looking!:jump:

  • Been watering 1.5 cups or so as needed with MC @ 3g/gallon, BE and SC @ .5g/gallon. Greenleaf nutes that I switched to a couple few weeks ago.

Grace is finishing up soon. The bud inspector says lots of milky trichomes on her but no amber yet.

Pluggin along and having fun figuring out what I'm going with next run. I've got Northern lights x big bud, AK74, Candy Kush, Critical Purple as choices. Then the growing medium looking at going 40% perlite with 40% PM HP, and 20% PM organic. 3 gallon fibre bags. Anyways, here's the pics for the week. Thanks for stopping by n checking out the horror show:stir:

  • Watering / feeding as needed every couple days. Grace is pretty close to finished. I just want to get this first mess of a grow finished up at this point. Whatever gets harvested will mainly go into edibles.
