Problem:
no growth at week 3, one has twisted and yellowed curly leaves

Medium/grow method:
soil, used what I could find locally. A generic “organic” soil with no fertilizer mixed with 1/3 bagged topsoil and 1/3 perlite

Feed: and supplements used:
So far just water

water source:
Bottled phd to 6-6.5

Strain/age:
Both from Growers Choice. One is tangerine dream and one blueberry. Both are at 3 weeks today.

light used:
A blurple light that came with my tent about 30 inches above seedlings running only in veg mode
Specs are:
600 watt Full Spectrum LED Grow Light
Specification
LED Output Power:600W
Actual Power :220W
LED Quantity:120PCS LEDs
Input Voltage:AC85V~AC265V
Frequency: 50/60 HZ

Climate:
77-80* RH 45-50%

Additional info: I think I may have over watered around the time they sprouted and they seem to be stunted ever since.
I can’t even get them to stretch towards the light.

Any help would be appreciated. I know it takes some time to get some roots going but at 3 weeks if afraid to see what happens if they’re still stunted.
I’m not looking for massive yield, but just trying my luck at autos.

How much and how often are you watering?

Everything else looks ok to get plants growing, other than the medium looks pretty rough. My guess is overwatering has caused the issue, with an oversaturated medium, roots don't need to grow to find a supply. With a photo there's always time to correct before flipping to 12/12, but with autos, once the plant thinks its mature it begins flower, those first few weeks are more important than all the rest.

Am guessing your going to end up with some pretty small girls.

Went looking on average size for these strains, not a lot given. A plant count per square meter would have been helpful to know WHAT the size might get too.

Welcome to AFN :D

:welcome::welcome::welcome:

I'd say, If the water is to be trusted - Everything else looks right .. except the mystery soil.
My guess would be that the soil PH is out of line and maybe an unfriendly environment for the auto seedling (which can be quite sensetive as youngsters)

My recommendation would be to try a trusted store bought soil (not sure of your location - but there's plenty of recommendations here .. or just ask and someone will pipe up :D )

If that's not possible ... Ask around the soil guys to see if there's some way to make your own friendly mix.

Do you have a PH meter? They can be handy for diagnostics!

At three weeks, you'd expect the leaves to span around 20-30cm diameter if things are rocking as expected! (IMO)

Hope this helps

I have a ph meter and ph’d my water between 6-6.5.
The soil I used was all I could get locally from the store. It said “organic” soil with compost. It was the only one I could find that didn’t have fertilizer in it.
I was hoping this grow would go good and make my own soil or try them in DWC if there’s turned out. But I think I still have a big learning curve to figure out

Any chance of getting anything (soilwise) online? Or too risky?
I'd definately recommend going the soil / organic route. If you can find some trusted reliable products .. it takes a lot of effort away!

I use Biobizz Lightmix soil, Biotabs organic feed pack .. along with a few little extras like beneficials, little bit of calmag and an organic PK booster for flowering.
It works consistently without the need for me to use any meters. I buy store bought water with a PH of 6.2 for seedling phase, and when they're older, just use my tap water (dechlorinated) with no ill effects.

:toke: - mate, I moved this to the right spot.. Reference section is for info and articles....
yeah, [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] suspect is the dubious soil,.. No nutes is for sure another part of this, especially so when the soil is likely poor quality and lacking decent enrichments...
.. with the courseness of the soil ( a lot of poorly composted material) and extra perlite, I'm not so sure overwatering is in play
... this late in the game, with little time left, I'd toss these and start over.. But a caution first about GCS, we have seen a lot of bad genetics from them, many have shown up here.. not autoing, hermies, poor vigor, etc.,... just plain bad give-fuck-all breeding... I recommend going with another breeder, many good ones can be found here for researching who to try!
... are you in the EU? Good quality soil can be a bitch to find over there,... BioBizz is fine, light or blend with AllMix (too hot by itself for seedlings).. soilless mediums like Promix (peat based) are fine, but you need to feed by week one! Ditto for BB Light mix,... avoid coco, it's a bitchy medium to deal with as a new grower, many treat it like a true soil (which it is NOT), and end up with regrets!
... Blue has you sorted well with Biotabs, a starter kit can be had for a reasonable price.. check them out!

Thanks for the reply
I’m in the US and had planned to get seeds from Mephisto but had screwed up and bought a prepaid credit card to use for me seeds. Then found Mephisto doesn’t take them. So the only place I could find was GCS. And I was starting to wonder if they were the problem. Out of 6 these are the only 2 that got this far. But being my first auto grow I figured it was me to blame.
It’s been awhile but I used to just grow photos in DWC hydro.

talk with Stan in their section about getting hooked up in USA,... otherwise, there are a few NA/Canadian seed banks that may take cards still,... a few over-seas ones do (can't recall off the top of my head), but that's more difficult than ever currently, they have become very bitchy about this will CC companies... You'll have to do some research with our listed vendors here to see who's accepting what!
