Yes,mix the DOL into your medium before planting.
Do you know the ph of your water?

So last quick question. The three plants all seem to be growing at diffrent rates, The largest is a good inch and a half taller than the smallest. Is this normal ?

Thanks for looking "AFN smoke out"

The different sizes is nothing to worry about,as long as they are green and healthy. They look fine in your pics.

Hey, welcome.

Highly recommend a PH meter, EC meter and garden lime. The lime will keep your soil at around 7. You should check the ph of your rainwater, if it is like mine it is SUPER LOW. You could get lockout early on if you don't use lime. Organic nutes are good for bringing ph in to line in tap water, I use Biobizz. Some epsom salts and molasses will also be handy for later stages of the grow.

Karma to your grow,

Dazed..

For god sake do not raise the ph of the compost to 7 you WILL get problems
have a look here https://www.autoflower.org/f73/ph-potential-hydrogen-manual-polled-12594.html
the first table right hand side shows the range of ph that nutrients are best taken up by plants
it is harder for compost to buffer up than it is to buffer down
to put it simply if the compost has a ph of 5.8/6.0 and your feed is ph 7 then as the compost buffers the feed down all the different parts of the feed become available to the plants

I was always told that a ph of 6.5-7 is recommended for organic soil growing. If the nutrients bring your water ph down to 6.2/3 as mine does, my run off eventually gets too low and I get lockout so need to raise it somehow.

Apologies if I gave non-sound advice.

dazed is that rain or tap water and how much feed are you using
i think its baking soda that's a ph up in water

I have runb out of limus paper (had some left over from a diffrent project) order some a week or so ago but taking ages to come. Last test it was 7.6! so needs bring down a bit I think.

Thanks for the link. I think I get WHY PH controle is so important now. The HOW is still a bit fuzzy

Am I right in thinking that ph too high is more forgiving than too low ?

my water is about the same ph as yours.when I mix up my bio bizz nutes ph falls to around 6.5.
I started with litmus paper, didt find it to be to accurate.
cheap ph pens can be found on flea bay along with calibrating fluid £15 will last a few grows,a fancy ph pen can be £50 but should last a lifetime.
