officially 29 days old today - she is the biggest monster I have grown so far.

posted some close ups of the deficient leaves - I suspect that is due to the over watering and the plant used those lower leaves as a food source. My only worry is that I can see the start of it on some of the newer leaves.

the soil is almost dry, so will feed her tomorrow, probably 1ml/l grow, 2ml/l root juice and 2ml/l bio heaven

whats your ph runoff like?
id take it over to the infirmary for some more help before it becomes a bigger problem just to be safe. looks like its spreading.

nice bushy plant looks good other than that

day 31

I checked PH etc.. and it all looks fine (around 6.5 based on color).

Have acquired some BioBizz Alg-a-mic samples from the local hydroponic store.

Fed her yesterday on 1ml/l grow, 1ml/l root juice, 2ml/l bio heaven and .5ml/l Alg-a-mic and also removed the deficient leaves and removed a couple of high up big leaves that were blocking branch light.

She has grown a lot again since yesterday, but I guess will not know if the deficiency is sorted for a few days.

I have 120w worth of CFL (4*30w) to put at the sides - when do you think she will be ready for it?

Thinking about my other grows, all used biobizz nutes and all had slight issues around this time in growing. Definitely thinking of changing to a different brand for the next grow.

thanks thinkdifferent.

new pics - day 34

just after the last pic, I kinda went a little mad and removed about 8 large fan leaves that were blocking light to new branches.

she seems to have suffered no ill effects, in fact she is looking the healthiest I have seen and is constantly growing :)

fed her again today, she was bone dry, did .75ml/l root juice, .75ml/l grow, 2ml/l bio heaven, .75ml/l alg-a-mic and introduced 1ml/l bloom.

also swapped my blue light for a red one

have my eye on a couple of fan leaves blocking two branches - I suspect they will be butchered by the next time I post.

day 37 pics

as thought, I have butchered a couple more fan leaves to put further branches in direct light; and again it has responded well. I am not planning on cropping any further.

judging by her weight I would say feeding in another 2-3 days.

it has also gone colder again here, so my temps at top of pot were about 16-17c - so have turned the fan down slightly. I normally try to keep the top of pot temp around 20c so top of canopy is hovering around 25c.

I also had to buy a new reflector - the old one was second hand and started to bend under the 250w cfl weight. The new one is a Sun Mate, and my philosophy of buy cheap, buy twice has been proven again.

thanks for looking all, and any feedback or criticism is fully appreciated.

day 44

Been having problems again for the last week or two (drooping leaves and the patches on leaves); finally got a PH measuring kit for soil and found it was around 5-5.5

So went and bought some garden lime and diluted a desert spoonful in a liter of water. Did this five days ago and she looks to have finally stopped getting worse and the leaves have perked up some. The garden lime is also supposed to be a good cal/mag feed - so hopefully it was either a PH or a Cal/Mag problem.

she is on 3ml/l bio heaven, 4ml/l bloom and 1ml/l topmax

I have also had to LST the main stem as it was growing way taller than my box would allow.

someone please say if they are remotely interested in this journal.

week 7 (well in 2 days she will be).

I have given up trying to figure out what is wrong with her, I can only assume one of the following;
* Weak plant
* Poor choice of nutrients for my water type, my local hydro shop says he has never sold biobizz to someone twice
* Some kind of root rot or root pest

I have eliminated PH, Cal/Mag and Phosphorus issues.

She still looks ill, has red stalks to leaves and those leaves develop deficiency signs eventually. I also tried to LST the now longest branch and it just fell off the main stem... as in literally fell out of its socket with the most minor of touches.

okay, now on to the good; she is taking 2-4 liters of watering every 2-3 days, and is budding proper now... so I think given harvest is about 5 weeks away I will probably get something out of her... fingers cross :)

I almost forgot to mention... the weather has turned slightly cold again, so instead of putting in my 180w heat tubes, I put 120w's of side CFL lighting.
