New Grower ongoing issues

I am using 3 gal smart pots with soil. My last three autos averaged 24 in.
Maybe a few more details and a picture? One of the resident experts may see something. All I can think of is the size of your grow box, it is kind of small, but as there are also many micro grows I am sure that's not it. Sorry!

thanks for all the replies.
to answer a few q's for germing i use the glass of water/sinks/paper towel then final pot.about 90% success rate.pots are 11litres think thats 2.5 uk gals and 3 us gals.not that 1/2 gal should make a difference ? no.
water is around 7.5 ph after its been left a day or so.i correct ph when feeding/watering.soil ph is fine.
ec pen is about the only thing i dont have.regular tap water not in a hard water area so think the water is a ok.
tried one grow with no nutes,much the same results as when i did use nutes.
humidity/temp is well within recomended range lights on/off
full mylar walls,floor and ceiling
fresh soil each time,with added perlite that has been soaked to get rid of dust.i never cut leaves,tuck a few tho.
lights bought from growlightsled same as where epinguin got theirs.
have experimented with light height from 2-24".cupboard door quite often left ajar with a fan sucking air out into an attic.4x120mm pc fans gently swirling air around cupboad.
never weighed yeild as it would only make me cry.

How's it all going Archie ?

Trouble is with the growing books, most (all ?) of them aren't about autoflowers or LED lighting.

As my flightless-bird friend said, epenguin and i both use the 120W Prakasa and it does a very good job for such low power, easily beating my old 250W CFL, so your light is not the problem.

The food of the plant is the soil and the nutes, you HAVE to use quality soil. I use Plant Magic Soil Supreme from here :

but any light, organic compost that is a good brand will be beneficial.

I also use the organic nutes from the same company.

Organic compost and organic nutes means no worrying about Ph and all that crap.

I like things to be easy and growing organically takes a lot of chemical guesswork out of the process. You can use your water straight from the tap, my water has a Ph of over 8 and it stinks of chlorine/ammonia but i don't have to worry about it.

So, to sum up :

1. Get a good quality organic soil that is light (enough nutes to last only two weeks).
2. Get good quality organic nutes.
3. Follow the nute manufacturers guidelines but use half-measures and ask advice here.

Can't believe you've done a dozen grows and you've not been happy with a single one yet

My autos always hit about 45cm (18 inches) but my pots are only 3L.

Also, because ALL autos have the Ruderalis gene :

they will be shorter than photos. But growing in 11L buckets you should have 36 inches or more.

Get some good soil and nutes mate!

check check check.im still at as big a loss as to pinpointing my issues now as I was before starting this thread.a few helpful hints and tips,(thanks all)but nothing I didn't already know.i think ive come as far as I can.growing is not for everyone,i will just have to accept I have a brown thumb and move on.thanks all

My advice would be t`stop comparing your girls with other grow/results...For every great grow you see here...there are loads which aren`t anything like `em! It wouldn`t surprise me if you`ve been unlucky with your Pheno`s(A lot of stuff hasn`t been properly worked/stabilized in the world of autos and new strains released all the time!) If you`re only growing 1-2 girls(I doubt you could do any more than that with 120watts :dunno, you could be missing the good stuff! I mean, that`s why folks `clone` Photos`...
...I haven`t posted pics for a while, so I wouldn`t say you should(if y`don`t want too!), but I reckon some chaps/chapess`s would be able t`give more help if you did bung a couple of `mature`/just b4 chop pics up "My 2 cents" ...I reckon it would be a shame to waste all your time/effort/Money, by just `packin` it in(so`t`speak).Your choice though archie...All the best mate(I`ll never forget that goal in the 78 WC!lol) :Sharing One:

Yup, what a great goal. Krug, I promise I won't mention the drubbing ya got this weekend.

Archie, don't give up. I have noticed a big difference between my last two grows. This one, is small, like you are saying. The big change between my last "tall" grow and this "smaller" grow is the nutrients. I was using Chempak and it was super. This time I used VitalLink Earth. The Bloom nutes seem fine but the veggie part has been so disappointing. Plants are small.
You seem to be doing every thing correctly. Try using a real high nitrogen feed next time.

thanks for the encouragement folks.time cost,effort,stress and after 12 weeks I have a weeks worth of smoke.roots look kinda normal,no slime or nasty smells.but just like the topside of plant small.
