So as I have yet to have a harvest this is technically still my 1st grow? I'm asking because I don't know exactly how that works. I have 2 other plants going concurrently, this will be my 3rd. I can't help myself, I'm a bean poppin' fool. Hopefully I can have an perpetual harvest. I have a Cheese Candy and 5 Himalaya Blue Diesel left. I am going to have to reverse one of these sooner or later, can't afford many more of these seeds. Considering a cross between the 2 strains I have yet to germinate. Certainly there is a Blue Cheese strain already? If not I call dibs on the name!
Anyway, thus begins my latest effort- Black JH from Original Sensible Seed Co. I am really doing this because I was surprised how my 1st auto (a La Diva by Delicious Seeds) had such strange growth spurts and such an incredible growth rate. It is more of a super loose compare and contrast even though I am going for a soiless (thanks Oldster) grow. It will be similar but not exactly the same, super loose, as I says.
So today is day 1 in the water!

This will be my 3rd plant I have hidden around the house. I have a bagseed photo that I've stunted (treated with horrible experiments) that is in week 8 of flower and my 1st auto around day 26.
Just ask if you want any other info.......

Since this is a female Black Jack Herer, her name is Jacqueline.

So, only ever having germinated 2 beans using the water method, I decided after 2 days in the water to put Jacqueline (let's call her Jacky) in a wet paper towel. This is how I've always done it in the past and have NEVER (knock on wood) had a problem.
Sidenote: finallly named my 1st auto La Diva strain. She is La Ferrari. Not imaginative enough? Think about it, Ferraris newest supercar, La Ferrari is a superfast new HYBRID technology. So it happens to be the PERFECT name. Especially because of her hoighty toighty strain name. It took awhile but they finally all came to me.WIN_20141010_012203.jpg

Found the Blue Cheese strain. Knew it would have been to good to be true. Esp. considering my background in food. Ah well, have to gain my fame with a different strain. Please hold while I peek in my germ bag...
She is split up the side with a white dot on the end. So far so good, looks like she will be successful in the germing dept. Has there ever been a MORE documented bean on AFN?
Oooh, if it works out we could share the same day of the month insofar as being born. Time will tell.

After reading a scathing article about how I think most of us germ seeds, both in water and in wet paper towels, I decided to put her in her 1st apartment. I found that the soil I bought wasn't soil after all. What I bought is mostly peat, perlite and only a few other things in very small amounts. So its soiless I suppose. Anyway, Jacky is now in "dirt". I am waiting dutifully for her birthday. As my throngs of followers will attest, you will be the 2nd to know when she pops.

man mine just showed sex today. its already got some great structure! ill definitely be following along to see how yours turns out! best of luck!

Welcome. Kickass, you have the same plant going, niiiiiice! Should be interesting as to what they are like compared to each other. So far Jacky here has been a bitch coming from her bean. It took two days to crack. Glad you found this journal. I'll be watching yours closely too. Very cool man.

Possible tragedy here with Jacky... Nso I put together a new grow area for my underdeveloped/unidentifiable to the passer-by plants, great, really cool. I moved Jacky there as this is what the space was intended for, all good. I set up a timer, put down plastic, hung a cheapie lamp fixture (for $14 they're getting better than 5000 lumens iirc) the space looks tits. Anyway, I check it out this mornin' and there is Jacky. Somehow riding high right on top of her "dirt". Not a centimeter down where I (thought) I put her. Just staring me in the face, half expected her to say "'mornin'". Please, please, please tell me that after soaking her for 2 days then another full day at least in a paper towel drench that she had/has enough moisture in her to live through one night surfing atop her grow medium?!? Man, I hope so.
I know we all make mistakes but this one is somewhat baffling as I had just finished researching how long after germination to plug your seed which included certain info regarding depth that I recall recalling as I gently covered her with "soil". Silly, silly question but I've got to ask it, has a bean ever grown out of your soil? Maybe pushed her taproot down but sent the bean up instead? (Jacky really doesn't have that developed of a taproot as yet but still worth posing the question. I'm baffled.
Hope to hell she's OK. Check out the new space...

That is a dying Sweet Basil plant next to Jacqueline. Can't for the life of me figure out why whenever I bring it (the basil) inside it goes all crispy and wants to die. Jacky is back underground, jeez.
