Just starting an outdoor grow on my balcony (I'm in Southern California) and I'm only going to be using Prescription Blend Nutrients + Recharge, with diatom earth and neem oil on hand. Using Mother Earth Coco/Perlite in 2-gallon fabric pots.

Currently in the germination stages but I'll keep this thread updated with progress and questions as it's been years since I've grown, and that was indoors.

I've also got it on Grow Diaries which I'll also keep updated.

Here's a picture and a question: Is this a good time to introduce nutes? (1mL/G of Core A and Core B + 1/2 tsp of Recharge) Or should I wait for the second set of leaves as I had planned?

Also, it's currently behind a screened window. The sun still looks bright, but is it possible that this isn't enough sun? Just want to get ahead of any issues. I plan on putting it outside in a week or so.

So far just been giving it water pH'ed to about 5.8, PPM around 100.

Edit: forgot to mention my cat pulled up one of the seedlings :( I've got another seed germinating to get me back to two.

Started feeding Core A + Core B at just under 1ml/gal, gave about 2ml/gal of recharge first couple days.

Literally furious right now. My cat attacked the other seedling, the one I thought was impossible to get to. I'm too fucking pissed off.

Will I be able to save this?

Seems to be recovering nicely, here's the other seedling that's 5-6 days behind. Just introduced nutrients to this one.

woke up and cat ate the little seedling completely and the biggest leaf on the older seedling. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO FUCKING DO. Not gonna stop growing but HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I put Cayenne fucking pepper EVERYWHERE. I raised it 3 feet high where she couldnt possibly reach. She knows she did wrong because as soon as I notice, i can't find her and when I do, she's timid. I just needed these fuckers inside for 2 more fucking weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FUCK!!!!!!!

So now my plants are 20 days apart in growth. My seedlings are hidden where as I cannot even get to them without moving half my apartment around, just to keep them away from the fucking cat who will take a spray of water to the face and still try to eat my plants without breaking eye contact. The younger one isn't even worth a picture but introduced LST on the older one yesterday.

The question now is when to switch to Veg Feeding? The 4th set of leaves is coming in, should I wait until they look like the 3rd set first? And I plan on topping off the pot with more coco/perlite, should I remove the half-solo cup or is it fine to leave it? Any advice is appreciated!

But did the little forker get a kitty buzz?

Sorry, sometimes I can't help myself.

Kidding aside, I hope you manage to get a lid on the kitty problem.

Re. the nutes, I would be ramping them up gradually starting now. You will want to keep the concentration lower than the suggested mix unless they ask for more. Good luck with the Prescription Blend nutes, they look good to me, and have some good reports.

As to the solo cup, I assume that the bottom has been removed, is that correct? Is the cup split to make removal easy? If the bottom is off and the cup is split to allow it to slide out of the coco with minimum stress, you could remove it. If it is not split, I would leave it where it is as long as the bottom is removed or there are root windows cut in the sides. She is growing nicely, so you don't want to rip up roots at this stage.

Good luck with it. :pighug:

She doesn't even touch my raspberry & blackberry plants and doesn't destroy any other plants so I thought she'd be fine, but I severely underestimated her.

I'll move up to Week 1 Veg strength tomorrow and note how it does.

The cup is only about an inch or two deep in the soil, but it isn't split and would be difficult to remove since I started LST (Really I just helped it grow with the damage the cat did. The stem was too flimsy to keep up straight). So yeah if the cup isn't going to cause problems down the line I'll leave the cup in and add some more coco on top.
