Grow Room PC Case Micro ScrOG - LED Based Nano Stealth Grow!

@icanelectoo That looks fantastic men! You really got my jaw to the floor with that pro technology you've put together.

As for what you said at the end of the video... I don't know the costs of it but I for sure think there will be enough demand for you to put a package together and commercialise it!! I think no-one right now is focus on this kind of micro-stealth grow and if you come up with an easy to use and comprehensive pack, I believe a lot of people that actually can't set up tents would definitely get into growing with this! Salesman word ;)

Can't wait to know more

Hey @Bernie , thanks for the encouragement! Looking at the costs of this setup, I'm thinking a package including the control system and LED board would be about $200 CAD. Keep an eye on my YouTube channel, because if I start seriously thinking about putting a package together, I'll probably start discussing it there first.

We'll have to see how this all works out though beforehand :eyebrows:

Having in mind the possible buyer I am thinking of (people that have never grown, don't have space and probably don't want to get too much time on it, but still want quality smoke) I would suggest a plug-and-play package including all what's needed plus a guide on how to follow the process.

If you want to go full blast I would suggest to automate and connect it wireless... And then you'll be competing with great companies that are launching something similar but in quite a big format (and price: from $1000 US to $3000US more or less, that's huge bucks!). You can do a quick google search on the matter, just look for automatic growing cabinet. If you can stay at a low manufacture price (and consumer price!) and get a nice yield out of it, relatively hassle free and 100%stealth, I think you're on to something veeeeeeeeery interesting man.... (at least I would for sure invest on the project if I had someone pitching it to me!)

I'm not much of a youtube guy, but I'll do my best to follow there

Saw your last video by the way, can't wait to see how she recovers!

Best,

B

Thanks for the thoughtful response. The system is mostly automated as-is, but if I redesign it entirely I'll definitely be adding a Wifi controller, which would allow users to tweak the lighting schedule and monitor temperatures wirelessly. And yeah I have looked at units like Seedo. They are exorbitantly expensive, and in my opinion, try to control too many parameters.
For most things, I prefer the KISS method [Keep It Simple, Stupid!]

Hi AFN!
I call this a nano grow because it's almost definitely going to go terribly wrong - but maybe it won't.

So here we go. I built a growing environment inside a mini ATX computer case. Even as far as computer cases go, it's pretty tiny. For the project, I built my own LED board with CREE XLamp XP LEDs, and I'm driving 14 LEDs at 700mA. I'm putting about 25W into the LED board, and the growing environment is 6" deep by 9" wide. I've given myself about 2" below my custom-built ScrOG net for LTS and pre-flower, and only have about 6.5" of flowering room above the ScrOG net!

Inside the computer case, I've built an Acrylic tank in an attempt to keep the growing environment airtight. There's an input fan and an output fan, with carbon filters on both ports. Finally, I spent a portion of my degree developing a climate controller PCB, so I'm using that to keep track of time and set the lighting schedule, although there are a ton of other available features on it which I'm not using for this project.

All of the electronics for this project are conveniently tucked inside the front panel of the PC case, so from the outside, there is only a single power cord visible which enters the enclosure from the lower back.

Here are a few photos and a link to a YouTube channel I started for the project- If you want to follow this project or leave any feedback, I'd love to have you as part of my YouTube community! I'll be keeping updates frequent on this plant's progress and I'll try to show all of my steps for LST, ScrOGing and flowering!

Amazing work man great stealth. I've been around forums since early 2009, ive seen some impressive cases in the beginning years of micro grow but since havent been to much to rant about. I remember a fellow by the name of mr micro can still google his thread up, he had 14" of grow room above and 12/12 grew a bubble gum seed ended up with 14g dried herbs with cfl in soil. Im betting you can do the same if you can keep your girl happy, since hydro an led. Im wishing you luck on the grow an cant wait to see the outcome.

That is absolutely wild, man! What's more is that he seems to have done his machine very similar to my machine - electronics in the front-panel, ScrOG net, he even called it a nanomachine! I guess ten years has brought a lot of new conveniences by the way of technology. Thankfully most components these days fit nice and snug!

Yes with the tech these days it could be improved, led's far exceed cfls. Im definitely looking forward to this grow. I also have a small case right beside me. Its no where as beautiful as your case but i may fire it up just for a seed run.

She seems to be doing well so far! 24 hours after her first top and she's recovering strong and still showing lots of new vegetative growth:

As for the case itself, I've just finished my degree and haven't started work yet, but once the cheques start coming in, I'll likely begin prototyping a more complete system that's entirely built on a PCB. I might also do some tutorials on how I designed the system, how to select LED drivers for DIY LED boards, and things like that. If you're interested in that sort of thing, check out the YouTube channel I linked to this thread  I'll likely be doing my most detailed updates there.

Also, I left a post on Mr. Micro's thread. He'll probably never see it, but he just might :headbang:

Hey everybody! I'm going to be out of town until Monday, so I'll top off the water reservoir before I head out and we'll see what happens over the next few days. Before I go, I wanted to do a quick progress update.

We're at 15 days since this plant sprouted, and I did my first top on day 13. She's been a real trooper, her vegetative growth was barely stunted, and she's started growing [what looks like] two nodes out of the top site - pictures later.

I think my gameplan here is to let her grow out these two main nodes through the ScrOG net, at which point I'll top one more time and bend those four nodes through the net. Once they've recovered, I'll start flowering. With how well she's grown so far, I'm guessing that it'll be time to switch her to 12/12 by day 25, but we'll see - she's been at 18/6 since seed.

I had originally planned on growing eight main colas, but given the size that these leaves are reaching relative to the enclosure, I think I should probably keep it to four for this grow, being that it's my first. If it goes well, I'll try doing an identical grow with eight colas afterward and do a yield comparison as well.

I'll keep in touch over the weekend in case anyone has got questions, I just won't be doing any progress updates.

Cheers!

You mean you don't have an automatically generated update camera in there? I feel a project coming on. Lol

Sent from my comfy chair.
