good article @Waira.
I don't think I will be using hydrated lime with peat again; caused me too many probs with one strain in particular (auto white widow-but curiously no problems with some others-Tutankhamon, Dr.Feelgood).
I have been saving eggshells for a while now; every time I crack open a raw egg (free-range of course) I rinse out the shell and leave it to dry. I have half a bucketful in only 3 months. a quick crunch up and then into a coffee grinder and I have powder in seconds. I will have to add it cautiously, as its an unknown to me with respect to its pH raising qualities.

:pass: Oldbie, what's good brudda? I'm glad you found them here in this quiet backwater ... I've used H-lime to fix badly acidic Fuxfarms soil, which still sucked in the end,.. not cooked enough-- typical of them these days! I also used a water only solution too help get a wildly dropping pot get back on track,... it works, but one must be rather careful with it!
