Poppin Poppies

Reconstituted Seeds

Thanks Aku!!Sounds like youve done a bit of these,I may call on ya if I cant get a hold of my buddies assuming I run into an issue..cool..? lol. yeah i gotta tell ya these ones(assuming many prolly are similar in some respect)are VERY resilient ,I tested an area to see if they'd stall and reconstitute..WELLLLL they did,as it sorta would be since it is a hardy crop once healthy and established in a medium that is friendly to it growing tendencies..pretty cool i re wet several areas and I have like three er so new sprouts.Bummer these things are slow though ...LMFAo im sooo used to seeing autos after a time just tear off kinda n these are like a looong slow sativa (as pertains to staring up anywho lol) or something.these are only something like 80-90 days till flower harvest once established So im excited dude.

Thank ya'll for pervin me wierdness n stuffs, should be a grand ole time in due course me thinks.:smoke: "AFN smoke out"

What part of the world do you live Eyes? I'm in the midwest USA and our time to sow poppies is anywhere from when there is snow on the ground to late spring. I was just too late last year by a month or two. They like to winter over. Also they like loose, loamy soil. And only water when they visually look like they need it. It''s strange but they like crappy soil and not much water, very strange plant. I have yet to grow out a full blown opium producing poppy but have read up on them a ton. Also, try to plant in permanent home, they don't like being transplanted, although the calif orange poppies didn't mind too much. They get big though, the real sized ones. People may call if they see them growing so don't have anything else growing near them,
Where I am, they are not illegal until they are scraped and bleeding opium. Good luck.

oh yeah if you look the world over and listen when them dudes talk youll see that its a massively hardy crop once established.yeah its similar to viticulture to an extent.more acidic conditions from year to year throughout the growing and transition cycles. So once I it them with something, aint decided on exactly what yet but im almost there, ill lettcha know man and thanks a lot for the info too man!! if you have anything muuch more finite in detail about flowering process techniques (other than fletch n collect type)to gather a more maximum amount or which ever.may sound like an ego but its not bro, just confident and determined but I can almost promise you this is gonna happen.if not this time.one of the others and a better germing dome and a more custom soil.in three months or four I expect to have a little something.LOL!but ill harvest poppies to cure and resow since ill not let them go full cycle to cycle.well, prolly anyway LOL!never say never LOL!:Sharing One:

finally starting the stretch..SLOWLY ;)

Just two pics of the smallest, biggest one lol!just finally starting to move a lil move since the roots are finally taking LOL! I wanna try some in my seedling mix sometime soon or when I redo my tent n clean up and start a whole new grow in about 2 weeks or so.maybe sooner..not sure.anyway lol pic happy today i guess.Later all!:smoke:

Thanks for your info too bro!Thank you!:Sharing One:

I tried to grow some once but I think the ones I bought were not good. I could never get them to germ.

they took about a week to really do much as far as germination goes, and twice as long to get here LOL! they are really slow. LOL!I wanna try a more loamy type soil n see if I can get them more root established early on n maybe wash the roots in a mild feed..dunno I know they are a lil sensitive especially to N,sooo..just tossing ideas around at this point lol. wanna make that oldschool hash I used to get a lifetime ago.that'd be sooo killer.

Finally starting to grow rapidly

well the growth spurts in the past few days were really noticeable and I really expect them to take off.I used some Big Bloom to feed and water the surrounding root system and watered really good again today to get the rest of the soil since when young I kept the soil in a very Loamy type state with little to no stress.Uncertain yet if they are exhibiting slight stresses but other than a few egdes slipping down I like them overall but not sure about the colors of the outter Pith of the veins..ill keep ya posted.I got a few of them now in various stages, apart by a handful O days mang.Be good ya'll.Thanks fer swingin in.:Sharing One: :tiphat: :peace: :Hookah:"AFN smoke out"

Opium poppies {papaver somniferum} is grown in many UK gardens, I've had them get to about five foot {1.8M}.

There are ways of making little cuts on the unripe head of the poppy to maximize the latex production, often I see people just cut the heads off and boil em up.

The deheading method is the easiest and safest way but you lose out on production quantity, having poppies with little nicks in them is a dead give away your collecting the latex.

Growing opium poppies is not illegal in the UK but production of opium is and you need a license to produce opium and I wouldn't expect to get a licence any time soon.

I have heard of poppies grown indoors but not tried it my self, I don't actually like opiates but but if other want to make opium c'est la vie and wish them well.
