Everything that i grow
I am looking for a prefabbed grow cabinet. I am leaning towards a 2'x3'x6.5' unit from Growboxusa. I am looking for any feedback I can find on this suppliers products. Anything and everything would be helpful, i.e. product quality, customer support quality, etc.

Thanks - AFN, you rock!

In all honesty, you may not get a lot of help on this one. To my knowledge there aren't many people here using prefab grow boxes. When you look at the cost compared to building one yourself, DIY is always much cheaper. I built an outdoor box, fully insulated, shingle roof, wired and stocked with equipment for less than $500.

Collegegrowbox.com, I got a couple little prefab cabs for like. Hundo each but they're just cfl, if ,y arthritis wasn't as bad i would have hade them for half the price but not a bad deal. They're more like 18" x 30" x 40" tho...

Ya Muddy, I was afraid of that. Most of the journals that I have ben watching are DIY to some degree. I agree that DIY is the most economical way to go. And a prefabbed unit will have a much longer payback period. But in view of my situation I still think it's the best way to go. I have run across a few growers on another site that are running with super closet setups and one or two with some other prefab. But nothing from this supplier that I have found yet. I will definitely post a review if and when I decide to pull the trigger on this one.

Thanks for the input Johnny. I will check them out. So any pros and cons for your units?

Can't you use a tent or is that not stealth enough for your situation? Any prefab systems I've looked at have been crazy expensive.

I would definitely recommend going with a tent over a box if you can. Ive seen more negative feedback then positive. I was looking into one myself before I started growing, and I ended up not buying one. I went DIY 100%, since the cost of a prefabbed wasnt worth it IMHO. I’ve a little bit about people usually running into heating issues with some of those boxes.

Its a lot funner to DIY if you can a preplanned layout for your box. I built my current 4 feet high 4 feet wide 2 feet deep grow box out of wood from Hom3 d3po7 less then 100 in wood and nails. Then I can throw in a couple 180 watt UFO's for ~ 70USD a pop. Add some supplimental CFL's if need be. Then get you ventelation setup going. 50-150 bucks depending on if you want carbon filter etc.

If you do get one. Just be ready to have to possibly modify the ventilation and possibly something else.

Thanks for the input Muddy and Neko. Unfortunately, stealth is the MAJOR issue for me as I have a leo next door and another across the street from him. Yes they are a bit pricey but a cab will work in my home office décor were a tent would be a bit obvious. The one I'm looking at is about 3K. I could have a nice little holiday in Jamaica for that, but as they say, ya gotta pay to play.

The growboxusa (aka accelerated technologies) units seem to be well thought out. Taken the best features from the competitors and added some their own features (mostly or hydro).

I found a fairly detailed journal that was using one. I did notice that the cab temps got up in the high eighties and the rh got below 20. But he did not say what the room conditions were.

Will probably bite the bullet and go for it soon. Merry Christmas to me. lol

Ouch! 3K! But I understand where you're coming from. One last thought. I've seen some very creative uses of pieces of furniture turned into grow boxes. I've got an entertainment unit that is 21" deep, 38" wide and 40" tall with double doors on the front. It's big enough to grow 3 dwarf plants at a time. It wouldn't take much effort or expense to turn it into a grow box. I'm sure if you looked around you could find something like that on Craigslist or at a used furniture store. You could have your grow box AND the vacation!

they aren't that great.

id say buy them, harvest the fans and carbon fixtures and light fixtures and put them in an entertainment center like muddy was talking about if you're like me and tend to electrocute yourself soldering wires to make diy light fixtures

Ohhhhhhh. Did not think of that. I like it if I can find something big enough, possibly a empty cabinet. Sometimes I overlook the obvious. The mind is now running off on a tangent. Thanks Muddy

lol no problems there man. Engineering, electrical, instrumentation, and control systems is what I do. Can also handle DIY metal fab, woodworking, etc. It's just a matter of finding the time. Between day job, AFN research, and day to day life, there's not much time left. Will do a costed bill of materials, estimate the labor time, apply a rate for my labor, add it all up and see how that to the prefab cost.
Ya mon the juices are flowing. Thanks Guys
