Extraction Qwiso

This was my first ever run of QWISO, from a couple of months ago. It was much easier than i thought it would be. I froze the trim and the ISO for a couple of days and then i poured the ISO over the trim in the jar. Shook like hell for about 30 seconds and then put a piece of cheesecloth over the mouth of the jar with the trim. Then i poured it into an empty jar. All of the trim stuck in the cheesecloth and i was left with pretty clear ISO. I then used the "band" from the lid of the mason jar to loosely secure a paper coffee filter onto the mouth of a third jar, then poured the liquid into it slowly, filtering out all of the smaller particles of trim until it was just clear liquid in the third jar. After that, i just removed the filter/band and poured it into a glass baking dish and placed in front of a small fan. Almost too easy....:toke:

Didnt get much but i only used a small jar of trim since it was my first time. Thanks to Grindin and Hashmouf for the thread and tips. Couldnt have done it without you!
:bong:

I drain through a sock over the jar........same 15 sec shake 15 seconds to poure.

this is how i was going to do it auto! hahaha.

did it worf perfectly fine? or would a filter be better?

i mean as long as you seperate liquid from greens it should be good right?

I think it worked perfect, got no vegitation in it at all, I'm sure there's a little waste cause it soaks into the sock, but that ain't much at all.

When using IPS for hash making, I prefer to use fresh wet material. That gives us possibility to longer extraction time up to a minute without loss of quality.

I wanted to ask if someone can calculate his average yield rates? even its very ~
also wondering if someone tried to make bho run with material after qwiso to see what was left. I found that there is some good potency oleoresin not only goo.

I use a "re-useable coffee filter" - made of plastic frame and fine metal screen. This allows the liquid to pass quickly for the first filter. This separates the solids but leaves a lot of silty material. Then I use a normal coffee filter to strain a second time. This takes a considerable amount of time, so the use of the the coarser filter to remove the solids is imperative to keping the time down.

ALWAYS make a second run! You would be amazed how much is still left in there. I toss the waste material in a mason jar and keep in the freezer for another run later. After a few initial runs I use the by-product of three runs which gives a yield of one regular run! Don't throw out the waste! If its kept frozen, the quailty is still just as good.

Question for you guys
I used 99% rubbing/isopropyl alcohol on the bottle itself it states that it's poisonous I did let the alcohol evaporate.
It did not mention food grade. Would it be okay to use?

99% iso should be fine for qwiso.

its what i used to make mine -- evaporated by the fan.

turned out real potent and delicious.

goodluck!

Just made my first batch last night using ABV material and a bit of rough trim.
Left it overnight to evaporate and this morning it was a dark brown gooey substance left on the plate.

I used 99% ISO with the 30 second sit/30 second shake and strain.
Did not have coffee filters so i used some thicker paper towels and it seemed to work okay.
It was material i was keeping and when i saw this i decided to give it a go!

Will try it out tonight!

:peace:
