Extraction Qwiso

I made my first ever batch of QWISO last night , does anyone here use this method for hash? if so share your experiences with it, any tips, tricks, or tutorials.
i used this guide to make mine http://forum.grasscity.com/harvesti...des-homemade-hash-{step-step-pictorials}.html but i think i left in a alcohol a little to long because mine was a dark brownish black color, but it was my first try, gonna give it another go soon

The only thing i do that isnt in that guide is put my iso in the freezer over night so its real cold when i do the run.

I use ethanol instead of ISO - same technique. I freeze both the trim and the alcohol. Mix it together and pour out within a minute. Take the trimmings and re-freeze immediatly and ISO wash it again the next day. I can get two good runs out of my trim by keeping it frozen. Comes out all amber colored!

I recommend buying a re-useable coffee filter screen. I filter it initially into a mason jar which gets out just about all the soilds but leaves some "dust" in there. Once filtered I then take my time with a real coffee filter to polish out the liquid into another container for evaporation. A real coffee filter will take a considerable ammount of time to work through, so I wouldn't leave the plant material in the rinse while it filters, so I technically filter it twice : one is a coarse filter and then I am not ruining it while waiting for the fine filter.

Kpex has a great method that substitutes the iso for ethanol, just make sure you are getting food grade ethanol so as not to leave impurities when it evaporates... It is also worth noting the taste is always a bit better with the ethanol.

Some places it's hard to obtain this quality ethanol (Everclear, 95 - 97.5 %) but if you have the time you can double distil a batch of strong store-bought gin or vodka to get the same type of solvent.

in the end any solvent will work but some works faster than others and some of these leave undesirables behind so be aware of the chemical... A good solvent to use if you can get your hands on it is pure ether, but watch out it's very dangerously flammable/explosive...

thanks kpex.. although i didnt get the color i wanted out of mine it was still pretty potent stuff! cant wait to step my game up. wanna try some other methods out after i do this one a couple times!

Moonshine is great but if it's from corn it might leave a bit of a taste behind, but I can't imagine it would be a bad taste... If you distill it once more it would probably work better and taste less. Good stuff either way! :buds:

thanks bro, i can get everclear too, so maybe ill just do that and see what i prefer. i couldnt taste the iso afterwards but i been smoking it ontop of bud

Question for you Grindin the tutorial that you followed was he using Rubbing Alcohol?
