They sell these for about $30 would these cut it do you think?

Hey!
What exactly did you have in mind? Can you show a picture or provide a link? My first thought was I don't think so, but it's hard to make an educated guess without some more info.
Thanks!

Ive wasted so much money trying to save a few bucks on a filter.
Finally I just spent the $125.00 on a can filter and have never had a problem since.
Im in a 4x4x6 room with a 400wt. mh/hps I can run 6 plants with ZERO smell.
My advice is dont go cheep on the filter.
Oh yea. I'm on my 3rd year with this filter and it is still going strong.

Joedirt,

I agree with you 110%. There are some things you can cut corners on and stealth(if needed) is the one thing you should NEVER cut corners on. In my eyes if a grower needs to be aware of smell issues then they have stealth issues to deal with. Cutting corners on makeshift carbon scrubbers is just going to cost you in the end.

Spend the money of a real carbon filter now or spend twice as much trying to jack around cobbing something that in the end will fail.

I'm with Joedirt, I've purchased a couple "bargain" inline carbon filters from sellers on eBay and am still struggling with occasional odor. I'd bite the bullet and buy a Rhino or Phresh filter.

The trouble isn't really cost but more so space as my grow box is a fridge just trying to find something suitable as I read it is better to have the carbon filter on the inside side of the exhaust pulling through rather than pushing the air through it.
Also just ordered a 180w UFO led light

Looking at it you can prolly fit a 4" fan and filter in there. I got a decent set-up on ebay for about $60.00 USD.

Oh yeah, not counting the draw at the bottom the available space in there is 470mm x 510mm x 1000mm

This is also only for one plant at a time and I don't want to limit the space of the plants grow limit

I hear you.
It is ultimately up to you, it is your project after all. I think that, like me, you will need to work it out for yourself to ever be satisfied! Cool, no worries!! I will say though that in regards to carbon scrubbing that too much is sometimes just right if you have a stinker on your hands!!
Peace and happy growing.
