Old Reviews Rock Vs. Fox Farms

Just a heads up...I did a rough cost comparison regarding cost/gallon of nutrient. I left out sledgehammer and flowering kiss and went right off of their feed schedule and MSRP to find a cost/ML.

From my math Fox Farm is $.87 per gallon at the 1L bottles and 6oz sized granular products.

With rock...after doing the math on just the base nutrients and additives...you are at $.65/gallon at the 1L sizes. (Cost analysis is available on their website as well.

I am attaching the fox farm excel sheet (in PDF) so you guys can see the comparison.

That's awesome, thanks!

Nice work Detroit Haze! You saved me some work and for that :slap: If you are who I think you are, please hang around and feel free to comment.

Day 24

Here is another pic update. Yesterday they all went under the hps seeing how theres room in there now. The Rock plants are exploding while the Fox Farm plants are doing great, and are right on pace for Fox Farms; just wish it was in the same hemisphere as the Rock plants. Im feeding both and full strenght and keeping ph around 5.9-6.0 while in veg. Using ml compaired to tbs you really get the point that Rock is a lot more concentrated, and there for more cost effective. While it is true that Rock purchased in liters is more expensive, it will last more grows thusly costing less; and remember folks you pay for quality.

LOL ...thanks. I will chime in here and there, more here to observe and see if I can learn anything as well. I have no problem answering questions regarding the line...just don't wanna hijack the thread lol.

The one things I do want to say though....environment and genetics play a much bigger role than nutrients in the grand scheme of things. Glad someone who knows what they are doing is running a test and I hope both nutrients turn out amazing product and weight.

Thank you for the kind word. This line up is nothing short of remarkable! I wouldn't of believed it if i wasn't seeing it with my own eyes! Next update will have measuring tapes to show the difference.

keep up the good work Nam! this will be very helpful to a lot of members trying to decide what brand of nutrients to go with....always a hard choice to make for a new grower, with all of the fancy labeling and branding, expensive prices and hydro store marketing. Great to see a live test to see the ferts in action.

DetroitHaze, welcome to the site! :peace: thanks for pointing out the price comparison between Rock and Fox Farms. Price is always an important factor in choosing nutes for most people, but theres nothing like seeing the results speak for themselves...cant go wrong with effective AND affordable!

Thanks CGR, but with out A4 and our new member this would NOT have happened. Thanks every one for seeing how this is coming along.

Day 27

Here is the updated pics. Some things you might not pic out in the pictures. My two Fox Farms ladies while growing nicely for their nutes are a couple of shades darker than my Rock ladies. Telling me of a slight Nitro tox starting to raise it nasty little head. To have a complete side by side of not only the nutes but of the studying and care that has gone into each of the products. Ive been feeding both by the recommended schedule, and as ive known but wanted to make known to every one, not that we didn't already know, most nute suppliers don't really have it completely down for us, the autoflower growers.
This can not be said of the fellas over at Rock to this date. We still have a long way to go but so far my two ladies are a perfect shade of green and completely dominating this grow.
With out further delay here they are.
