Grow Mediums Sensi Seeds Super Skunk SCROG (Autopots, AutoCobs, & Mega Crop Oh, MY!)

Hey @HemiSync you have just given me the perfect thing to do with my Sweet Seeds mother plant which has different strains grafted on - I'll scrog her! I've got to wait until my current photos have finished then I can set the tent up for one plant with a scrog net. I have something similar to you to use, mine's plastic trellis (if I can find it). She's currently getting fed small amounts of MC anyway. My reason for not keeping her is she was an experiment and the strains are all unidentified as they were out of a mixed pack. If I can work out what they are once they're flowered out I could always re-veg her I guess.

I'm now subbed!
Are you saying you grafted different strains onto a mother plant? When you start up a journal for that please tag me. I have always thought that would be a great way to create a mother. One mother, multiple strains in one pot, all ready to clone. Would love to hear more about your grafting technique. Now that momma I would keep alive for multiple seasons if I had it properly identified. :smoking:

It's over on my Experiments thread, it doesn't have its own separate one because I wasn't certain it would work. I'll find you the post:
https://www.autoflower.org/threads/elles-experiments.65694/page-29 post number 289.
And here's the video that inspired it:
https://www.autoflower.org/threads/elles-experiments.65694/page-31 post number 305 which Bushy found and linked.

He used whip grafts but when I tried that they all failed. I used v-grafts the second time: on the mother plant I cut a slit in the end of each branch I was grafting to, and cut the graft itself to a point to expose both sides to the same type of cells in the split stem.

Hope that helps!

Got it, getting ready to head out but will take a read later. This has so much potential for weirdness, I LOVE IT, :pighug:

Oh I was just talking to my buddy about that, I said a video or documentary on this dood that grafted all these different fruit trees into one was pretty cool. So we're sitting there smokin and was wondering if it could be done. Wow subbing this and yours to.... give me something to strive for.

Just got a microscope that can connect to my iPhone/iPad via a separate wireless device and have to say it does take some decent shots. These are photos of just a bud I had handy. It has been curing for a year and I’m actually surprised how well the trichs are holding up.

Ok boys and girls, the buds are sitting at 62%, have been trimmed off the stems and are ready for jarring. It was as I expected one of my worse harvests to date. Proof positive that growers should not experiment midgrow. I thought it might be as bad as 4oz, but I was pleasantly pleased when the final count was 150g or 5.3oz. Hey but it is five nice ounces, all the buds are rock hard and full of trichs. Also got an ounce of sugar trim for making topicals and other goodies with.

Here is a picture of the final haul.

I took what was left of the three biggest ladies and left some leaf and fluff on each one. Then I planted them out in the garden and feed them a strong veg formula. I’m hoping they might reveg out there and by October will have some extra buds for me to harvest this fall.

Now to jar these buds up for a few months. I guess this is the end of this journal. Any comments, questions, or criticisms are still welcome. :thanks: to all that followed this journal and helped me along the way! Come join me for my new grow listed below. Should be flipping the SCROG to 12/12 this weekend. Then things should get exciting over there.
:hookah:

Pretty nugs @HemiSync and a very good haul despite the set back. Look forward to any kind of smoke report once she's ready for you!! Great Growing Brother!!
Let’s let it cure for 3 months or so and I will be back with that. :smoking: I have had plenty of samples and it is, as expected, rather harsh on the throat at this point. Although It does gets me a buzz that starts in the solar perplus and runs right up and grabs hold of your temples. I do not normally feel the effects anymore, but 4-5 quick hits off a pipe and I can feel this strain.

Nice haul man! Glad it's a bit better than your worst fears :pass:
:thanks: for you the kind words, I should write on the wall of my grow tent, DON’T experiment midgrow It can really cut into your yield, but It’s always good when you are smoking your own. :hookah: Plus I learned a lot in this last grow.
