Has anyone experienced new auto seedlings the tips of the new leaves turning purplish black and curling? I have multiple plants in a tent not all are doing this. But the ones that do their second little set of leaves just start turning crispy after they turn colors kinda like nute burn but no nutes have been added to babies. When this first happened around a year ago I couldn't get a plant to 3 to 4 sets of leaves until they would die. I first thought it was broad mites but never positively id them. I started with new everything and cleaned entire room with physan 20, and now have some almost ready to cut but it appears my problems are coming back.

Something sure doesn't sound right, I'll bring in someone that can help ya with that.. @Waira Good-luck & hope she can help you resolve whats going on with that..

Sounds like gnats, the larvae maybe eating the tap roots.? I had that problem recently and lost a few different seedlings, some hydrogen peroxide to kill the larvae and diocetious earth will stop the adults re-populating the soil.. or could be damping off.? Others more skilled will probably chime in.. Good luck and happy growing ..

no gnats now thanks to the cold weather, thanks
They might not have been ALL killed, if you have hid lights the wee bastrds ( larvae) could be back.? How did you get rid of em last time and how long ago was the gnats 'killed' ? I stay in Scotland and I've only just got rid of gnats- if soil is moist enough, the evil wee fkrs can survive in the winter ( in our grow tents/cabs etc..). I wish you luck.!

If it were bugs, you usually would find evidence on the bottoms of leaves. A simple trick is put a 1/2 inch or deeper layer of sand on top of your soil. as Gaz29 said, diatomacious earth is a great natural cure. It is non toxic, and it kills most bugs on contact. NEEM oil sprayed on the leaves will deter the pests, and kill them if they try to eat it. A combination of those tactics should take car of it.

That being said, I am not convinced it's bugs yet. We need (natural light) pictures of the problem, and details of your grow environment to properly diagnose.
