Old Reviews silent fans

Nice idea fairly cheers for sharing

Td silent @19db, silencer and a quality fan speed controller and it's virtually silent in my cabinet..Have had people sleep in the same room and not one has noticed a thing..I go for true stealth

That is great wow that is silent especially with a fan speed controller. I have one too. I turn my controller down and can hardly here my fan at all those controllers work great reducing sound

@mxc and @Fairlynew I've got a td 350/125 and was wondering what controllers you two use as I'm confused as to which are compatible with the fan. Any help would be grate.

Beware of speed controllers! They're not all the same. I learnt the hard way.

I got near silent buying a super oversized 10" regular RVK fan, and using a variac (or voltage regulator) to reduce speed to 1/5th (2/5th late flower).
Regular rheostat (I believe) style speed controllers are much cheaper (and extremely lightweight), but often will make your fans hum like mad, and when I mean like mad, I really mean like it's not even worth using. These are usually the one's with built in thermostats.

These crappy speed controllers also seriously reduce the lifespan of your fans, while variacs will preserve them.

usually the sound and acoustic data given for a fan is wrong...but also the noise can also just be the velocity of the air in the ductwork etc...
