New Grower soil/CFL cabinet grow; 2 fem auto widow cheese

Heat is between 80 - 82 F and humidity between 55 - 60%. Can't get humidity higher even though I have a humidifier running outside the cabinet by an intake fan AND have a cups of water on the inside! What up with this???

Anyway, thoughts on how to raise the pH of the soil? Watered the other plant with pH up'ed water, and her runoff came out on target. Won't be able to water again for a while to adjust the problem child. Aaarrgh!!!

What does your growing medium consist of??

Fox Farm Ocean Forest :( I'd bought a huge bag before I found this site and read that it can be problematic. Flushed the crap out of it with pH up'ed water before planting, but I worry it's still an issue.

Yep that's your problem right there. I was expecting you to say Fox Farm as well. There's so many threads about that soil being too hot for autos. There's someone else experiencing similar issues on here as well. Hopefully someone more experienced with Fox Farm/pH issues can chime in.

Thanks again, supernaan. Anybody out there with advice? #saveliza

Sorry, Jenny

While I do use a bunch of Fox Farms stuff, I always have used Happy Frog (West Coast production facility) and it's always been 6.5 - 6.6 out of the bag....
It's less hot than FFOF as well....

Thanks, Trapper. So you agree with the diagnosis based on the photos? Do you know if there's anything that can be done to #saveliza? I don't want to lose her! She's so young!!!

I'd say you have two potential problems perhaps playing out simultaneously.

1: pH is crazy low/acidic

2: You just did a full watering for the first time, which activated a LOT more nutrients in the soil by getting it wet.

Dolomite/Gardening Lime will gently raise the pH but not rapidly

If it's nute burn, there's not much to do but ride it out...(to my knowledge) other than getting some sledgehammer and flushing them out.

This may not be what you want to hear, but there's a chance that, with this soil you're currently using, you'll be chasing pH issues the whole grow.

Another way to look at it is, they are so young that you won't have lost much ground if you want to start over with some new, Pre-tested soil....

just my 2 cents.

Knew before I planted them it might be an issue. Thanks for the input. Should have waited 'till I got things straightened out, but felt somewhat under the gun. Have a window of time in which things need to be done. Certainly not ideal for a first grow, but lesson learned.

Judy's soil has been more neutral from the get go. That said, she's been roughly 18 hrs behind Liza developmentally. We'll see how she looks in the am.

Thanks again for all. Fingers crossed.... #saveliza #goodvibesforjudy

I had the same situation on my first grow....(x) amount of days before I was leaving town for a couple weeks. Luckily I got a friend to handle the flush at the end and was able to harvest upon my return...

Good Luck with whatever ends up being the case. :)
