Mephisto Genetics Sour Orange Livers nute line battle. MEGA CROP vs AN with Air injection

Depending on what you are using for up/down some have trouble with organics and bottled up/down. It can effect your beneficials I believe. I would try MC at like 6.8 pH if I were you. The amount of up/down is very low. But your plant will/can get deficiencies from feeding the wrong pH, if you were feeding close to 6.0 with soil, that is too low. I don't do soil, but I would do a minor flush and follow it up with 6.8 pH MC At 4.5g Per gal. How Often Do You typically water? I Would Try 1.2-1.4 EC And 6.8pH With soil
Hey thanks. I'm literally in the process of flushing with straight up tap, and then I'll run just Mc at probably your recommended 4.5 g, and no cmp. I'm not even sure if I needed it?! Just me over complicating the process of the learning curve. As far as watering goes, I've been toying around with it. The first month I overfed with feeding at everywatering like 2cmp 4 Mc! Now I am alternating water and feed. My sal is drinking about 2L a day right now, so I'm just giving it that. 2L a day alternating feed and water.
My question now becomes-I have other things to use for ph down besides phosphoric acid. Such as citric acid and earth juice catalyst. Would either of those be better suited for Mc? Being their supposedly organic. See at first I thought Mc was Chems. Does organic chelates mean organic nutes? And last question my man- should I feed lighter at every watering as opposed to a stronger feed/water cycle? Reason I'm asking is my tap is over 8ph. I don't know if I should be ph adjusting it with one of those aforementioned organic buffers?

MC is not organic, but had organic ingredients. I don't grow in Soil. Many Soil growers alternate like a feed, water feed. I cannot comment on the need for Calmag with Soil in your environment and with your plants. Once you fix your pH, your needs may change. You could have had mag def symptoms from wrong pH, or you may actually need Calmag. Next grow keep the pH higher and things should present differently.

Great thread Slow. Good to see someone experiment and document results like you do. And us newbies are soaking up all the knowledge at the same time. Good of you to help troubleshoot too. Good guys like you and others on AFN keep us on track for sure. Otherwise I would still be stick in Intro To Growing Weed (aka grow some stunted mutants and call it good!).

So I just made another 3 Gal jug and reduced the MC to 13g instead of 13.5g, because the EC was higher in the 3GAL jug vs 1 gal. I left everything else the same. It was still a tad higher than normal. So, next time I make my 3 Gal jug this will be my Formula.
Per 3 Gal in this order
5.75g CMP
13g MC
2.75g SC

This will make the EC the same as per single Gal. I don't want to go higher. I will use the BE at 2.75g per 3 Gal as well. I am feeding a few of them the BE water, so we will see if makes a difference.

Yes ditto. Thank you so much @slowandeasy. Helping me out in your grow log is what sets this place apart. One day when we're the wizards we can return the favor and keep this thing going
No problem! This thread is about learning how MC does vs AN and figuring out a good formula to start with. Things are going pretty decent IMO for the first run with MC. It will take a few runs to really get a REALLY good formula. But I know that and look to improving upon this experiment. Keeping a good habit of weighing, measuring, and checking pH will ensure faster and more reliable results. If I followed the directions from Green Leaf my plants would no hehe so hot.

Plus my CDLC grow with MC is going to be with Drip Stakes and a pump/timer. I need to know the best strength for reservoir feeding. So I can just dip my EC meter in it to monitor.
Also I don't know if I have even mentioned it, but I have been feeding a 24 Carat MC too. Been a couple weeks, she was probably on week 5 when I started. She is ROCK hard! The yield is going to be nice for a 24 Carat. I am not concerned about MC and bud density, that girl is bulking up nicely!

Fuck yea. Your my hero dude. Also just started a cdlc. Btw here's my tent all mg on Mc. Thanks to people like you!

Sorry for the lack of updates and pics. Having some family health issues. It is a jungle in there. Will try to get pics tonight. They all look great. One of the Sour Cracks dried out a little too much, because I'm at the hospital. It will be fine, I just hate it when that happens. The Gold Glue AN is ahead in flowering, but the MC girl is looking good. I am actually impressed with the MC SOL girl, she seems to be flowering faster than the AN girl. So maybe the BE is doing something? The Chem Bubbly girls are doing good too. Also, we will call today day 2 for the MC CDLC seedlings!

BTW, the SOL AN girl is 5ft tall and about 3 ft wide. In a 3 QUART POT! MASSIVE

Hey brother so sorry to hear about those health issues. It's one of those things very easy for a lot, in good health, to take for granted:bighug::pass:lets share one...and let me say $$$&&&&)(;!!!!that is kinda a big deal for 3quarts?!and thank you for helping me. My gals getting that 4.5g straight up in aged tap no ph adjustment looks like 6.8 and holds there-they are looking much, much better. My 5gal sal gal is taking in over 2L a day at 4.5 weeks old in soil. :eyebrows::shooty:

Ok, I was looking closer to the Gold Glues just a little while ago. Been too busy, just keeping them watered is a choir, not inspecting them closely daily. The AN girl was always ahead, it is probably a week ahead. Much denser, it will be feed another week or so then flushed. At this rate the MC girl will be fed 2 weeks and then flushed, hopefully. I am hoping the MC girl fills in good, it has potential to have some long and big buds. The Sour Cracks are doing GOOD. The AN SOL is huge. The MC SOL girl is budding good, but shorter. Minor tip burn from that 3 Gal jug that was 1.6-1.7 EC. Next 3 Gal jug will be weighted as I said a couple days ago to make the EC about 1.4-1.5 max
