Well a few weeks ago i went and bought a bag of soil from lowe's. The soil is a organic soil. I never bought organic soil before usually some crap with chemical time release nutes in it. So i popped 2 beans and they have now been sprouted for 8 days. Now the plants look green but not to be growing. Sorry the plants are 10 days old and look like they are about 6 day old sprouts and very tiny leaves. Now the thing is i know when people make orgainc soils they don't need to worry about the ph of the water cause the soil buffers it out. I have been making my water about 6.8 ph and using it. could this be the cause to the slow growth i am seeings and the tiny leaves?

Your a little high on your PH but not ware it should affect growth. They are slow growers at this stage but they will pick up.Post pics if you can.

Im no expert but from what Ive read organically grown plants tend to grow slower than chemically fertilized plants in general.

actually organics hold the current world record for plants in size and color along with vigor of growth in plants.

what brand did you buy? I often prefer the Miracle grow potting soil.this time of year its often fresh and mixes down really really well with some perlite... and amendments if your so inclined.

It's possible the organic soil is too hot for your seedlings. Since it was purchased at Lowes I assume it contains composted manure, most likely either chicken or cow. It's very possible that it contains too much manure and is stunting your plants.

Well this is the best thing lowe's had that i seen, and yea i thought miracle grow was bad even the organic choice so i went with this the only other brand they had than mg products.

Hey brother, yeah standard MG is a big time NO NO.but Im talking about their organics line.two types works awesome and is very affordable.I use that with Dr. Earths for years now, never an issue. But with the first set of true leaves up n going your soil is lacking at this time and needs a very light starter styled feeding.notice the yellowing and no real burning of the edges.light crisping often lends to it being just outside of the comfort zone of the too hot for seedlings club.imo I say give it a small started feeing.thats exactly what Id do.

I personally would always use a plug potting method with a neutral seedling mix such as Jiffy's organic.works awesome.stay moist and works excellent in my dealings.that way you can avoid any fresh organic soil being too hot or anything like that.I hear ya there too brother, gotta use what you can get and afford.it can all work just organics is easier to deal with.

I would also guess that the soil is too hot for seedlings. I've had them just sit there and really do nothing for a long time before they take off. Good luck:peace:

That happen to me with my green o matic, i planted her in straight ffof and it was To hot for her her first nodes were a little crispy on The ends. She was very very small for her age and still is, but shes growing trong and very healthy. Ill try and post A pic.
